Hello Laundress,

I noticed here or on the THS forum you mentioned having tried the Commercial version of Tide. What were your impressions of it as compared to Persil. I have been using Persil in my Miele for about 7 years and love it. Tried Tide HE and hated the smell - was wondering if the Commercial Tide is a viable alternative to the Persil.

Thanks in advance!

Alan

Product am using is called "Tide Pro-Line Stain Removal Treatment" which according to the PG Pro-Line website is a "HE" in wash laundry product designed as an enzyme wash for badly stained linens. However the MSDS which comes up for the product states is the general Tide powder in all it's variations. Customer service person for Tide Pro-Line swore up and down one could not use the product as a laundry detergent.

Being as all that may be, have used it with great results in my Miele. Stuff is concentrated so only used about 1/2 tablespoon, along with an equal amount of Amway water softener (STPP), or pure STPP and some oxygen bleach. Like all scented Tide detergents, the stuff has a whiff about it, but soon settles down after line drying and airing to a point it does not bother my nose.

Cleaning wise, my concoction works as well as Persil, rinsing wise Persil and my other European products give a cleaner rinse, even with adding STPP.

Nabbed a case of the stuff (it came in large single use boxes), so have enough to last the duration, not sure if one will try and nab more once supply runs out. Would mean trying to find a P&G dealer willing to sell to a non-commercial person.

Hope this helps.

L.
