I have some cooker questions!

Are Belling still in business? If so, do they still make the Baby Belling? (I saw a picture of one years ago in a Conran's book, and thought it was so cute!!)

Does anyone here have one (or 5?) Any photographs?

Good heavens!

My late mother (a Brit) had a Baby Belling range in the first house she and my father lived in!
I will look through my father's photo collection to see if they had a photo of it, Lawrence.

Paul-

Thank you!

Again... does anyone here have one, or has used one?

I was just re-reading the first book by Jennifer and Clarissa, and I remember Jennifer mentioning that she had cooked on a Baby Belling......(I miss Jennifer Patterson!!) At first, I had liked Clarissa a bit more, but Jennifer's recipes have been more reliable for me. As reliable as a JANE Grigson recipe, or a Nigel (ooh, he looks like he'd be fun to kiss) Slater recipe.

We had a Baby Belling at Junior school in the late 80's until it was replaced around 1990 with a Belling Classic full size cooker.

Must of been a nightmare for the cookery lady who used to come in baking off 10 lots of biscuits for the groups we had lessons in with a Baby Belling.

Never experienced one since, doubt id be able to get along with on though lol.
Deep passionate hate for electric hobs and grills.

If I had to choose a modern cooker (which I hope is not for a good while) I would have extreme difficulty.

Only just managed to found the a picture with my stove of choice - the one my mother had when I was growing up.

Only pic I can find of it and had to crop that to remove my then 2 year old brother who turned 21 a few weeks ago.

Leisure 5 star MKII

If anyone sees one of these in good condition LET ME KNOW!!!!

Cheers

Lawrence, I was digging through some of the photos at my father's home a couple of nights ago - found several of their first UK home, but nothing with the Baby Belling yet. Found a good one of the 55 Frigidaire I grew up with, though! I'll keep digging!

Im sure there are a few of those Kellogs Raisin SPlitz mugs hanging around somewhere still, possibly at my grandparents holiday home.
