Actually, I think Rick looks like Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) in that picture and in his latest commercial. Now, do you think Mike will tell me where he buys his suits, becuause he is a sharper dresser than Barney Frank.

yay, barney frank! it takes someone who has suffered the pain of being the high school faggot to understand what is at stake. if you or your associates want others to believe that i am less of a person, am NOT entitled to happiness, and deserve the scorn of society, i cannot support you in any way! thats it! there is a special place in hell for people who use their positions of influence to demonise others and divide humanity. and as for closet hypocrites, i say lets tear the closet door off its hinges!

Has anyone heard that Baghdad is under siege <br
Google-Video-US Army Ammo Dump Attac <br
Did anyone see coverage of this on CNN <br
Rumor has it over three hundred soldiers were killed <br
I'm going to go research this, but this is not good <br
I'm just trying to get some accurate info on this...

Update: apparently the dump that went up tonight had nothing to do with an attack at a "Falcon" base on 10/10. It has been said that over 300 were killed there, but, of course, there is no way to verify this <br
So depressing.

Beam me up Scotty...Good point

And meanwhile, people are dying in Irak, American children are starving and freezing because their parents have no money - oh, sorry, forgot - those children have dark skin so they don't count
I have yet to hear any of our group'r republicans explain just exactly how this brace (drove? flight? swarm?) of republicans have upheld the conservative values Lincoln, Eisenhower, Goldwater, Nixon (with his flaws), and Reagon based their presidencies on
Come on folks - just how, specifically, has creating a deficit, dropping a just war against terrorists to wage one against people who were not your enemy, repealling habeous corpus, and violating the Geneva conventions of 1948 and '52 (the only protection US soldiers captured in combat have) served the needs of the US and its citizens? Be specific, be direct, don't hide behind the cliches. This group has controlled all three branches of the government for six years now - no way can you pretend this was all Bill Clinton
Actually, when I think about it - he may of been screwing the country...but only one at a time.

I read yesterday that there are just nine (NINE!) reporters/journalists embedded with American troops in Iraq at the current time. Compare this with over 800 at the time of the invasion. The administration and the Pentagon have set the requirements so high for journalists to be embedded with the soldiers, or have any contact with them that news agencies are now finding it impossible to find out what's actually going on over there. Censorship rules for CONTENT of their stories are also very stringent, nothing too shocking or upsetting to the American people is allowed to be published/aired. I have to believe some of the American media sets these rules for themselves as well so the we're not only rotting at the head, the media gets some of blame for the mis-information and propaganda as well. Now we have a total information black-out on what's happening on the ground, in the Iraqi "government" and casualty reports from both the US and Iraqi military but they have also put a lid on the civilian casualty numbers as well. <br
Big Brother doesn't want anything but good news to reach our tender little ears <br
War is Peac
Go Shopping

It may be sickening to see, but isn't that what war is? Over 2800 families of our fallen heros, like the one you mentioned, are living with the horror of their loved ones being gone forever, not to mention the nearly 45,000 wounded, coupled with the stinging fact that we have no progress to show them. New reports released today show that Iraq is closer than ever, and continuing to move toward total chaos every day. For this they have died <br
Let's keep our eye on the REAL TRAITORS that have sacrificed our brave men and women for NO REASON and have NO PLAN to turn the situation around.

traitorous?? <br
Nope that CNN reporter sure was traitorous. If he was a nice man he would have simply closed his eyes and "made believe" that the tooth fairy took swooped down and took him away to a nicer place. There is way too much reality on the news these days anyway, I would much rather hear about how Morticia and Gomez visit to Lily and Herman's house went, now that would be news.

You wanna talk Traiterous and Sickening?

Because we aren't conducting this war responsibly, we are forcing good, patriotic soldiers to stay in that hellhole for months past the end of their tour. <br
We aren't taxing at a level that meets the needs of the military, choosing to instead just go further into debt to countries like China. <br
We're lowering our admission standards for the military to meet the lowered recruitment goals. <br
We're not providing for adequate healthcare for the returning vets, which is setting us up for a whole new generation of mentally ill veterans, many of whom will end up homeless. <br
In short, we're disguising this war, so that people in the US don't have to face the ugly truths about it. So we can feel all warm and patriotic about the "support our troops" sticker on our car and our Toby Keith CDs, without any troubling thoughts of the people that are dying, the families that are being destroyed, and the hell we are putting these soldiers and their loved ones through. <br
And that doesn't even begin to adddress what is happening to all the innocent civilians in Iraq.

Conservatives

Conservatives and Republicans are,in most cases, not interchangeable any longer.I am a conservative,in fact an ultraconservative, and dont care what anyone does in their private lives.Anyone who pays their own way is thumbs up in my estimation.Modern Republicans can no longer campaign on controlling the size and cost of government-any true conservative's first priority.President Bush is an incompetent, and the Iraq war was a mistake-any true conservative will admit that if he is being honest.About all that is left for Republicans is the morality issue-guys like Pat Robertson disgust me as much as they do you liberals.True Conservatives are all about freedom-freedom of religion-or free to be not religious-freedom from over taxation and excessive government regulation, freedom in all aspects of life.We are about live and let live
Tom

Wow, thank you Tom for you honesty. And you know what, if a candidate truly ran on those conservatives values you just spoke of "True Conservatives are all about freedom-freedom of religion-or free to be not religious-freedom from over taxation and excessive government regulation, freedom in all aspects of life.We are about live and let live." I would be first in line to vote for them and dontate to them. It may surprise some that my views on all the issues are not always on the left side, but there is nothing more important to me than protecting my family and friends from these fake moral right-wing nuts. Nothing else in my eyes is more important.

Assurances......

Were we not assured in the last presidential election that Iraq would not become another Viet Nam ? <p> And I ask anyone right now: What has Iraq became?

And it wouldn't cost over $55 billion. Only missed that target by about $320 billion <br
All of us who commented from day one that the war would become another Viet Nam and that projected costs were ridiculously low were scoffed at as being....how was it put?......oh, yeah: unpatriotic pussies who just didn't 'get it' <br

Thanks

Uni,thank you for the kind words.Sometimes being a conservative in our great club here is a little daunting-but talking straight and direct is the only way I know. All this having been said, whoever is President is THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,and as such is entitled to respect. For example,I didn't care much for Bill Clinton-but if he appeared at my door he would be addressed as Mr.President, and given the best hospitality I could offer. It makes me cringe with shame to see other Americans call for his death, and to me some comments on our very site went over the line.We are all Americans,as much as our positions may differ
Tom

Mistake

When I posted my comments,I realized it seemed that I was talking about people calling for Pres Clinton's death,of course I meant Pres.Bush-sorry
Tom

Ah, but then...

Let's not forget - the majority of Americans do not vote. Especially those who are a bit less susceptible to the machinations of the mud-slingers often say "it's all the same, all politicians are corrupt" "nothing ever changes" "it's all run by big corporations anyway..." and on and on and on
This leaves a field day for the christianists and the fearmongers to take advantage of
If people would just take the time to look at what this group of republicans has really done (and not done) they might see that it really is not all the same and things can always get much worse than they already are
Most Germans, asked after the war, if they really believed the Nazis would murder the homosexuals, Jews, handicapped, deeply religious and Poles answered, "of course not." We thought that was just election rhetoric. We Germans are too decent and civilized to do such things..
I will not dishonor the death of all those millions of people who were tortured and killed by saying it is the same today. What is the same, though, is the willing ignorance of so many voters. Everytime I read a comment about how the democrats are the "tax and spend" party, I want to make that person sit down, read the US Constitution (and Articles) then have them tell me in what way this administration and this legislature have upheld the principles enshrined in these documents
If they can't read, I would ask: In what way is it NOT tax and spend when you take a balanced budget (took Reagon, Bush '41 and Clinton 12 years to do it) and turn it into the highest deficit in the history of the US
In what way is it "small government" when you bloat federal agencies to their largest size since the 1960's
In what way is it "defence" when you stop fighting a known enemy (in Afgahnistan) and start throwing away your soldiers' lifes to fight in a country which is neither a threat nor the slightest bit relevant to your national security
Heavens, I am ranting. Sorry. Deep breath
Let's just say this: I truly hope whoever wins the mid-terms actually cares about the welfare of the US. For a change.

Very good points, Tom <br
A friend of mine teaches at a big university in NW NY. She has been asking her students about their opinions on the upcoming elections. She says that 90% of them don't know what the issues are and have no plans on voting! And they are the ones with the most at stake! Amazing...
