Question... KitchenAid Glass Cooktop

Hey guys, I need your expertise. A friend of mine is buying a new cook top for his kitchen and would like your suggestions. He has seen and is interested in a KitchenAid glass cooktop (guess he found one on sale and likes the look of it). What do you think? Alternate suggestions?

FYI, I only had a chance to talk with him briefly. Not sure why he wants a separate cooktop and oven. I know he's moving into a new condo and am guessing that they're already set up that way.

Induction

With the price coming down, available models going up, energy savings, control is instant and precise, clean up a breeze I would buy an induction cooktop regardless of brand.  Personally after spending some time in the underbelly of Kitchenaid I would not buy any major appliance they produce because they will not stand behind operational issues and they're wont to discontinue parts and service with little or no notice.
