Quite a nice find!

After using (and loving) my KDS 17 for a year and a half I did grow weary about my strategy for loading given there is no upper wash arm so a couple years ago I added a KDS 18 to my wish list. I see many 17's here in MN but not 18's, until now. This now has been added to the collection (thanks to Mark and his new red truck!)and I will say the outside is mint! The inside with a little tlc will be mint as well, mostly needs a good cleaning. The racks are rough so I plan to use racks I took out of my KDS 21 last year, thanks Greg for the advice to save those! What other common parts from my 17 and 21 can work in my newly acquired 18?

Nice indeed! I like how they changed the cycle description panel from 'Party Use' to 'Special Use'. Does this model have an adjustable upper rack since it has an upper wash arm??

This one has replaceable front panels? A friend of mine has a KDSC-18 and there's no chrome trim around the front panels on his.

Thanks Phil, I did not know this, did all 18's have this? Were the replacements special orders? I am thinking it might be fun to switch these out and do something different than white. Not really into the stainless look so I am not sure what that would be, robin egg blue? LOL

Very cool Don, I didn't notice the door trim in the pic you sent me. These were sold without front panels, you chose the panel you wanted when you bought (ordered) the dishwasher. I wonder what the story with the custom trim on this one is... Perhaps one of the bi-metals failed and burned a hole in the original panel and this was a replacement. I had a 17 Superba once that had this happen and they puttied over the hole and shot it with a rattle-can of spray paint.

Now this is a myster....

I didn't know the trim was special. The house it came from was built in 1978 and this was installed new when they built the house. I might have to ask the daughter of the original owner who I dealt with to buy this as they were the only owners. It was a very high end house in its day so this could be interesting, was the trim ever sold as an accessory?

did sell trim kits as options at least for the 20 series and that would fit this machine.
