Bob May who played the voice of the Robot in Lost in Space died on Sunday of congenitive heart failure aged 69.
Scary thing is this is currently being played on Foxtel Fox classics channel and tonight's episode was called trip through the Robot in which Will and Dr. Smith werte trying to save the Robot from dying from power failure.
Thanks for the childhood memoried Mr. May.
WARNING! WARNING! DANGER! Will Robinson DANGER!.

Bob May WAS the robot. I attended the 30th anniversary cast reunion in Boston in '95. I bought a copy of his "Robot Memories" video and he was kind enough to sign it for free, even though the rest of the cast members were charging $95 for an autographed cast picture. Nice guy.

Saw the obit in this morning's paper. I thought Mr. May was only the voice of the robot, but that was incorrect. He was the actual robot flailing around, and the voice was provided by a professional announcer.

And so we will date ourselves a little more when we make the famous robot quotes and we all feel a little older. Such fun.

Will Robinson, you are on your own now.

I think the robot voice was provided by a man named Dick Tufeld. (or maybe billed himself Richard Tufeld) He did a great deal of voice-over work, and as I recall it was almost as widespread as (Mr.) LaFountaine who recently departed as well. ("In a World..." in hundreds of movie trailers)
