Hhmmm

Hi Bert , can only comment on sales the past year myself, (yes The Washing Machine Place is my business), feedback I`ve seen on here, some very interesting national sales figures and the fact that the factory build is always on catch-up.....similar with Hoover visions.....big seems to be what people want........so hardly limited sales one thinks!!!

Not sure what you mean about the Aqualtis range in the C`s....r u saying they dont have any on display??? probably because ther`yre all sold!!! they still carry all the stock lines...all available on-line!!

As far as company service goes you would be hard pressed across all laundry manufacturers to find what Hotpoint do as far as customer satisfaction goes;

From warehouse stock to home delivery within 3 days
Delivered by Hotpoint crew & vans, smart gear, clean vans
Delivery teams arrange time slots to suit customers
Customers phoned & txted afternoon before to confirm times
Can install & remove old machines
Register on-Line
Book service calls on-line/phone/mail
Download Instruction Manuals
Optional service warranties

Believe you me you would go a long way with a lot dearer machines to get the service levels that I`ve seen & appreciate of late!!!

Are you an engineer or sales perhaps?? would love to know more about you and your collection!!!...Cheers, Mike

Having never owned one....

...I have to be guided by what owners and consumer magazines report...

There are obvious fans for various brands here...and my belief is that is a good thing. If a machine does its' job well for you, then that is what matters.

When we look to replace a machine, we look at options that suit and normally start with the brand we are replacing if we have been happy with it.

The Aqualtis range are sold here badged as Aristons and from what I can tell, there are more and more Hotpoints in the UK (the HVL241 and BWM129 are 2) that are machines I would recognise also as Aristons.

I have avoided Ariston in Australia for several very very good reasons.

- I know 3 people who have had nothing but trouble with their Aristons. One has been replaced under warranty.
- Only sold through one supplier...Harvey Norman/Domayne
- Service is poisonously expensive
- Our consumer Magazine - Choice - based on owner feedback have Ariston at 77% reliability (Bosch 97%) meaning that 23% of all people with Ariston washers who reponded have had to have it looked at in the previous 12months.
- only 62% 'would buy again'. 29% said 'too expensive to repair'. This compares to Miele at 97%

Both the above statistics are the lowest on the list.

I like the look of the machines and they appear to do a good job, but from my point of view, I could not ignore those statistics/feedback.

I didnt know they sold Ariston in Australia!

The only reason why we are not getting the Aquatlis is because there is more to go wrong but i really like it.

Hi Chestermikeuk
I was not disputing Hotpoint's customer service and after sales service comitment.

Having worked for one of the big C's (as you put it) the sales of Aqualtis compared to the others in the range is small.

Quite honestlty as a service engineer if you think the latest crop of inde-merloini appliances are well engineered compared to others in the market then you obviously can't have a lot of engineering knowledge yourself or are just wanting to get a sale and I wont waste my time trying to pursuade you otherwise. landfill.

Anyway on a different note, I have a small collection of appliances which I have collected and I will upload as and when I sort out my digi-cam. Have you any pics of those you listed?.
regards
bertrum

Hotties...!!!

Just for clarification what I said was that the latest range of Aqualtis & WMD machines are proving more reliable than the previous models such as the WT & Aquarius ranges!!! Hotpoint that is....simply offer good value for money at the moment!!!

Well engineered domestic washing machines today would be V-Zug, Miele & MaytagAsko, a different build quality altogether!!!would you have experience of these brands as an engineer, we are always very interested in hearing all opinions and issues arrising with service calls etc...

"Have you any pics of those you listed?." not sure what you mean??

Looking forward to seeing the appliance pics and hearing more about the service calls you do!!! possibly after you`ve dropped the attitude, filled in your profile to give us a better understanding of what you like & collect, and found time to sort out your digi cam!!!

Hotties!

"Have you any pics of those you listed?." = I meant the machines you have.

"possibly after you`ve dropped the attitude!!"

I don't have an attitude thanks Mike and I didn't join this site to get into a confrontation with charliechesteruk about the merits of the latest range of Hotpoint washers.

You may think Hotpoint are good value for money at the moment but most informed people working in the service trade know different.

As for looking at Miele and Asko, yes I regulary look at these appliances, looked at an Asko today in fact,(never looked at a V-Zug appliance).

Personally i would say hotpoint are good value for money! Its a well trusted brand, many of my cosins and relatives have got hotpoints, such as the wma76, wf540, wt540 wma32, wf541, wf860, wt 960 x2, wf740, wf640, wt761. many more. Everyones is happy with theres so far, and i'm sure will be. I've got the wma 58.

Everyone is happy and so far had no problems except minors like filter needs cleaning etc.

My Baby

This is my Hotpoint Aqualtis AQXXF149PM. I bought it when they first came out. It does live up to its name, super silent. You can hardly here it spin even on the 1400rpm. The only downside is, it takes 2.23mins to complete a 60c wash, 2.07 when you use time saver, 2.39 when you use extra rinse. The coloureds 40c takes 1.35 mins, or 1.23 with time saver. It has a 30c quick wash, I would prefer 40c for this.

A perfect example of how good the hotpoints are, i really like it now that i've seen propa pics of it. Nice big roomy drum but the times are not ridiculous as my Lg takes 2hours 8 minutes on cottons 40oc.

I like ur quality of pics and ur machine still looks great.
So how old is it now?

I have to say......I wish i'd never sold my WM43 for a current hotpoint...and i loved my wt960g so much that i replaced it with a 12year old bosch!:D

I've heard the current WMD models are better. They replaced the suspension on the WT960 with that of the current WMD960 the first spin on the first load after the repair it span first time! I was impressed. But then it went back to its 20million throw around distributions as they do.

I think for the price. The bosch classixx & Zanussi essentials are the way to go.

The hotpoint service is still acceptable and as mike says they do offer alot. However naturally as indesit have more influence its not as good as genuine hotpoint ever was:-)

My Hotpoint

Hi Dyson 2 Drums, sorry I don,t know ur first name. I love this machine to bits. The shirt programme is ace. It fill up almost have way up the door with nice soapy water, has a vigerous was action, but rinses are more gentle.

The only bad point is the cotton cycle, but it really does clean very well. I am not normally a lover of hotpoint and I ordered this one by mistake, so glad I kept it now.

The door reminds me of a Bendix 7147 machine, the glass door on these machines use to slope. Loading and unloading is great to.

Regards

Paul

Yes the aqualtis is good but long wash times are pretty much on every machine nowadays, i think in the future hotpoint will add their 6o minute and 15 minute washes on their hotpoint aqualtis range. I also saw a vid on youtube, that had steam function and it had shirts hooking thingies.
Have u seen the video by any chance?

Thanks for ur reply.

Hotpoint

Hi,

No I have not seen the video yet. It does sound interesting. Have u any photos of bendix machines in the 1970s. My aunty had a bendix. It was the same size as the home laundry machines, with the soap dispenser on the top. It had one dial for selecting the wash programmes, and a button she would hold in to select the wash time. It had lights for wash, rinse, spin. The programme stage was like a reel of paper that would go through, wash, rinse spin.

I would love to see a photo of this machine.
