I recently read that Lakewood recently filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and is being liquidated.
This may seem insignificant. Admittedly, many Lakewood products of recent years have been lackluster at best. They used to make some very good fans, but I am posting this because they made the last good box fan, the model P-25.
This is the last box fan I know of that had a good quality motor, was sturdily built, and had 3 steeply pitched metal blades. They move lots of air without making too much noise and they were built to last. They can still be had new online or in some stores. Don't look for them at your local big box though, with a retail price of 47-60 bucks, you get what you pay for, not typical big-box ethics.
