Popping Corn In A MWO

Hi Rich, I would not pop corn in any MWO that I cared about unless you have a spare magnetron and don't mind changing it as needed.

It is also so much faster to do pop corn in a pan on an electric range, if you time it right you can pop a gallon of PC in under 4 minutes and have just about every single kernel pop on a 6" 1500 element.

I would try

One of those art magic markers which come in so many shades of each colour as well as various black and whites. Or, finger nail polish.

When you find the shade which works, if it looks good enough, done. If the right shade but too easily rubbed off, then a slight bit of top coat (non-glossy clear finger nail polish) works for me.

As to the whole even cooking thing, these microwaves cooked very evenly.

As to the whole efficiency thing, we're splitting hairs.

As to the whole power thing, unless you go up to a commercial, two wave unit running at 2KW output power or more, you're not going to see a difference between 800 and higher which is worth the one or two extra seconds you save.

With the help of several kind people, here, we were able to fix an earlier RadarRange many years back. Worked great and the 750W output was quite adequate.
