COOL---Saw a Telephunkin one sort of like that in a thrift store years and years ago-still kicking myself for not buying it when I saw it.also someone at the place where I work in DC plant had one just like what you have shown-Tuned us in on it-picked up any of the Greenville SW broadcasts-Like the tuning eye indicator tube on it-better than a meter! Bet it sounds real nice-a real tabletop Hi-Fi!

German table radios

Hi Greg,
I found a Grundig Majestic radio a few years ago in an antique shop in Fairmount Indiana for $90.00.It is very similar to yours in styling. I cleaned the tube sockets and cabinet, and put it in my office at work. I listen to NPR all day, five days per week. It has NEVER failed. I think mine is from the late 1950's-early 1960's era. (blond wood cabinet) They are a quality piece, sound nice, and have that wonderful retro look some of the electronic companies are trying to copy right now.
Congrats on another great find!!!

Very nice. I've seen a few of those around in my lifetime, but usually with some degree of heavier wear, i.e. one or more buttons cracked or missing in the front.

I take it the country names are located at the places on the dial where their national shortwave services are transmitting?

thanks all ......

thanks for the comments :), always nice to share ......... the cabinet has a little "cracking" in the high gloss finish, but that is OK, I rubbed it good with furniture oil. Yes, several of the countries so listed do come in. You can hear all the different languages and accents. The FM does have a very nice sound. The seller told me it was the "BOSE" radio of its time. That may be a "stretch" in my mind, but could very well be true. It is fairly large and heavy too.
