Anyone here a Rainbow lover?

I can remember as a child the first time the Rainbow salesman came to our house for a demonstration. He did all sorts of neat tricks with the machine, filled it with fragrance to make the room smell nice. It was awesome and I was hooked from that point on. Luckily my mother was also a big Rainbow fan so we always had one for me to clean/play with.

My current collection consists of:
Old Rexaire Rainbow Crome Dome (Before they did Power Nozzles)
Old Rainbow Chrome Dome w/Power Nozzle.
Rainbow D3
Rainbow D4
Rainbow D4C
Rainbow D4SE
Rainbow D4SE-PE
Rainbow E-Series
and ofcourse the newest model, the Rainbow E-2 Series.

To my knowledge I have very original accessory to all my machines as well as the carpet shampoo attachments to everything from the D3 to date.

The local dist. knows whenever a new model comes out I'm to be one of the first called. They KNOW I'll but it, but still yet I prefer they do a demonstration. Always reminds me when I was just a kid.

SOoooooo... Any other Rainbow lovers around here?

Rainbow!

Hi Dave, I remember the sales pitch too! A lady demonstrated the D4C to mom,dad and I and we were fairly impressed but they were taking a trip that week and didnt buy it. The week they got back the lady called and made them a better price and they took it. Last month I cleaned it up and put brushes in the motor. They are easy to work on but I forgot how the wires went back and Tolivac helped me figure it out. Now its running like new again.

I am always for vac demos-now I even do them on occasion to sell TriStars. The Rainbow Demos are always very good.Same with Kirby.FQ puts on quite a show as well. That New Rainbow E2 is very impressive-Showed it to the local Kirby reps-they were impressed. They also were impressed with the TriStar.Have some demo books for Kirby,TriStar and FQ.don't have a "proof" or demo book for Rainbow.I also like the fragrances used with the machines-nut-- after awhile the vacs own filter filters out the fragrance if the vac is run for awhile and you don't put more fragrance in it.The Rainbows HEPA filter(E,E2 machines) and the ULPA carbon fiber filter cone for FQ can filter out the aromas.
Drmitch-Glad your D4C is OK!!

Wonderful machines, and they make the house smell so good after you're through. Even with no fragrance in the water, it's just such a nice, fresh, clean smell. We've had them in our immediate and extended family for years.

You have to be willing to use it correctly and take care of it (not that big a deal) but they are nice cleaners.

For those unfamiliar with the machine, there is a water basin that clamps to the bottom of the canister, where the dirt is trapped in the water (and hence cannot be blown back into the room air).

Reminds me of a hookah (Middle Eastern water pipe that's become popular in the US recently, and is often available in restaurants offering similar regional cuisines). The smoke is cooled and somewhat filtered by passing it through an ornate container filled with water.

I'd caution the sales department to be careful about the "fragrance demo." Seems to me a significant market for these cleaners would be for people with generalized chemical sensitivities & environmental allergies. Some of whom get instant migraines when exposed to strong scents. No BS here, one of my clients has this problem, it's real. But these vacuums could be a real boon to people in that situation.

Rainbow!

I am on my second one and I love it. I remember when I first got it. My condo was only six months old so you wouldn't think the carpet would be all that dirty. I cleaned the carpet with my Electrolux, and then immediately cleaned the carpet with the new Rainbow. I was shocked to see how dirty the water was.

I use the carpet shampooer about twice a year with the rainbow cleaner and a little OxiClean. The attachment does a great job.

I'm very happy with this machine.

I too love to see how "dirty" I can get the water in my Rainbows.Rainbow dealers also sell an additive you can put in the water to both scent it and increase its wetting power.I use it as well as the scents-esp like the Eucalyptus scent. With a Rainbow-and the salesperson mentions and emphasizes it-there is no bag or regular filter to become plugged with dust-and the Final HEPA filter in my E2 is still "hospital" white after over a month of use!So it show the water indeeed traps most of the dust and dirt. Its a fun machine to use.Use it,my Kirby and My TriStars. My floosrs are much cleaner now-my carpets are over 30yrs old.Pulling up much less dirt out of them now.

Tho I am not a Rainbow Collector per say, a few years back
I snatched up a chrome dome rb w/pn receptacle minus the
pnozzle; very boss cast aluminum tools and owner book included. would you post a pic of your chrome dome power nozz
so I know what to look for?!!! thanks darrel

Here is one of my Rainbows with some of its tools. The dust brush and crevice tools are a brown plastic. They, the hose, water pan and etc aren't in this picture as it was taken after I'd been doing some polishing.
