I am looking for a range, and of course I want vintage.
There is one that interests me a lot, and I wondered if anyone has seen one - the GE J757 from 1972.
It's a 30 inch range with P*7 cleaning, essentially an Americana with the upper oven sliced off.
The reasons I like it are -
1) It's self-cleaning.
2) The cooktop is deeply recessed to avoid spillover down the sides of the range.
3) The oven window is a real window, not that damn black glass.
4) There is no fake woodgrain on it.
5) The clock/timer unit is analog and easy to have rebuilt.
6) It has a light for the cooktop.
Since I am never gonna find a 1958 Spacemaker like Ben (swestoyz) has
does anyone have a lead on one of these things in the Midwest - hopefully even that Iowa part of the Midwest?
Here's a old photo of one in Harvest (ick); I'd like to find one in white.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
