I've got a Friend who just asked me on Monday Evening what might be wrong with his Convection Fan. It is supposed to turn off, when he opens the Oven Door, but since last Week it just keeps on running. Is it possibly that it is just a Switch and maybe even "Tweeked" enough that it isn't making proper contact, or might a Switch need replacing? He told me that he has to unplug the Stove, or else the Fan still operates and it is fairly loud. I would gratefully appreciate any and all help with this. I will have a Model and Serial Number after Thursday Evening. I'm guessing that the Stove is around early/mid 1980's, because it is Harvest Gold. I would also appreciate it if anyone would be able to let me know if it is a Switch, if the Repair/Replacement would be an fairly easy or more difficult task for someone to do.

I'm also not sure as to which Manufacture it was made by, because I've only seen it once since he bought his Manufactured Home and I didn't really take quite as long of a look as I would normally would at the Kitchen Appliances.

I do know that he does have a great older GE Filter-Flow Washer and matching Electric Dryer, but I'm not too sure of the year/model of them. They do seem to be possibly older, like maybe late 1970's or early 1980's. I'm not even sure if they are White or Almond, because of the Closet that they are located in and the Light wasn't enough really around them to really tell for sure.

The stove would probably be a Tappan. If he has to unplug the stove to turn off the fan, it is a different problem than the fan not shutting off when the door is opened because the fan should only operate when the oven is on.

The problem started about 2-Weeks ago, but before that my Friend told me that when he would open the Oven Door, the Fan would turn off and go back on, when he would close the Door. Since a more recent time, the Fan just keeps on, instead of turning off at all.

Any ideas as to what this might be, if you {Tom} think that it might be something other than the Fan Switch? I would gratefully appreciate any and all info for help.
