I went to visit some Family out of town for Thanksgiving and they had bought a "Scratch-N-Dent" set of Admiral's. It seemed to look like a next to "TOL" Model. The Washer has a Plastic Tub and the Dual-Action Agitator, much like the Maytag's Agitator. Much to my surprise, when they were doing a load of Laundry, I opened the Lid to check out the Wash Action and the Washer "Indexes" the Tub, while Agitating. Are they supposed to "Index" while Agitating, or could that mean something is wrong with the Transmission? The Load was actually a Smaller/Medium Load and personally, I thought that there wasn't quite enough Water for the Load, because the Laundry was mainly just moving "back-n-forth" instead of actually circulating in the Water. Might that have some bearing on how the Washer Agitated, with the "Indexing" of the Tub as well?

Peace and Happy Admiral Laundrying, Steve

indexing

Yes they can index some, as long as the tub is not just "free floating". Unfortunattly that indexing conbined with there noisey brake has lead to some complaints. The other scary thing is the admiral is made in herrin. The old norge plant. It shares the same guts as the performa (PAV), the newest amanas, the newest "maytag" line, and also shares most of the same components as the atlantis. They are actually not bad machines for the money.
