Has anyone ever bought a Rebadged {BOL/MOL} Models of Laundry Appliances of the Whirlpool Family, being Estate, Inglis or Roper? I'm thinking that there is another or other Brands in this Family, but I can't think of them, or did I include all of them?

I'm asking because I've got a Friend who is looking into a new Top-Load Washer and Matching Dryer, but she can't afford higher Priced Models. I suggested the Inglis Models, since they are sold at Best-Buy and seem to be pretty good Featured Models, besides a real good Price per Unit.

I would gratefully appreciate any and all info of Reliability, Repairs {if any} and any other info knowledge of owning them.

Well there's Kenmore, and sometimes they have killer deals and lower level washers. Other than that, I think that's all of the lower levels. I really like my Kirkland Signature washer I got from Costco. But they went to selling true Whirlpools. Kirkland is actually just a rebadged Roper. I've heard good things about Ropers and BOL Kenmores. Just out of curiosity, What is she replacing?

Hi! Jason, thank you for reminding me about your Kirkland Washer as well. She is replacing a somewhat newer Maytag Gas Dryer, that came with her house, she just bought about 1-1/2 years ago and her approx 15-year old Whirlpool Direct-Drive Washer. I'm not sure of the Model of the Dryer, but I think that it is not a true Maytag, according to what she told me. She did have the Matching Washer when she bought the house, but she got rid of it already. She lives in South Lake Tahoe, CA approx 2-1/2 hours from Sacramento and I've not been to her newer house as of yet, so I'm not sure of space, other than what she has told me about when we've talked on the Phone or E-Mailing.

"BTW" since she moved to her newer house, she told me that the Washer won't fill up to the Max Water Level, does anyone have any ideas as to what might have happened to the Water Level Control, or something else possibly wrong? I wish that I lived closer to her, so I could check that our for her, she might not replace the Washer then and just get a new Dryer, or I might even be able to get her to buy a newer 2nd Hand Whirlpool Gas Dryer that might even closely match her Washer.

She is going to have the area where her Washer sits, to be adding a Gas Line and a slight Re-Model of the area to allow her to put a Dryer next to the Washer. At this time, she has the Dryer in the Garage {converted carport} and the Washer is in a Small Laundry Room. She was told that the Set could fit in there, that she just has 6-Feet of space to install them next to each other.

She had a Matching Kenmore Washer and Dryer in Harvest Gold, but when she moved to the house she just sold, one of her Friends that was helping her, dropped and damaged the Washer. She is as sentimental as I am, in the fact that her Mother had bought the Set for her as a House-Warming Gift and her Mother has Passed-Away, some time ago, as has my Mother.

I have given her some other similar Brands/Models to look at and she does trust my helping her, with Features for her needs.

Have her check into Frigidaire/Electrolux my dad bought the washer about 3 years ago and has had no trouble with it so far and it washes like a champ,It really gets clothes clean. If your friend is up to it, you might sugest tring Frigidaire. If and when our washer go out that is what we are going to get. Electrolux has done wonders for Frigidaire and White-Westinghouse and the other companies it owns. Just a thought. Thanks for listing. Danf.

Hi! Dan, thank you for your input of Frigidaire. I hadn't thought about them, because I had forgotten that there are several Guys on the Club Site that have bought the newer Models especially of the Top-Load Washers and they are pretty pleased with them.

I think that I will let my Friend know, that will either give her an "Overload" or if anything at least a few different Brands/Models to check out, for the Features and Prices.

frigidaire / lux

I have the 13 cycle frigidaire, a couple of months now. It works great, Faster and MUCH quieter than the amana it replaced. has second rinse, yes/no option. Lid locks during spin and remains locked for approx 2 minutes at end of cycle. In our area the big box stores are still, so crowded, purchased at a small local furniture store, hauled home and hooked it up ourselves in less than 2 hrs.. Steve I have never owned a frigidaire/electrolux product before. But for the price around $270. including tax, we are very pleased, I don't think your friend could go wrong. by the way Frigidaire mails an extended warranty for 3 yrs for $75. I declined that offer, however, might be an option with a large family. alr2903

What is the Model Number of your Washer, is it the Model just below the TOL Model? According to the Frigidaire Web-Site, the TOL and next below it are: GLWS-1749-A and GLWS-1339-C is your Model either of these? Do you have a Matching Dryer also? Do you use a Gas or Electric Dryer? I've got both available for Dryers and Stoves/Ranges.

Steve The Frig/lux model number

GLWS1339ESO, may be a slightly different or an older model that just had not sold, We are pressing on with the mid 90's kitchenaid electric dryer. Works great and turns out perma press that looks like it has been ironed, knock on wood, never a service call for it. We do not have hurricane phobia, but I was reluctant to spend anymore than necessary, we are very eager for October and the end of storm season around here. I hope if your friend purchases the frig/lux they will be as pleased with it as i am. have a nice weekend. arthur.

I have one more thing that I want to mention about the Frigidaire washers and that is the price is considerablely less that most of the washers-now-a-days. Rs: Frigidaire/Electrolux

One of the biggest things that Electrolux made Frigidaire and the others do was back in about 1993 was put 3/4 hp. motors in their mid to upper line machines and in2003 Electrolux made them put steel gears back into the transmissions where before they were plastic under WCI. The steel gears in the transmissions was the biggest and best thing that they could have done. It has made them more reliable and increased the longgevity of their toploaders. Thankyou Electrolux.
