Hi! Chris, as far as about your Stove help, I'm not able to help you there, but I can help you somewhat with the Maytag Dishwasher Loading. The Top-Loading of Dishes in these Dishwashers, I believe came around the First Maytag Dishwashers, in either the late 1960's or very early 1970's. I had a Model #WU-502 and it was my first and actually one of my most Favorite Dishwashers to use and to load. My most absolute Favorite Dishwasher however, is the great older Kenmore Series, with the Upper Roto-Rack.
