The Lucerne is quite nice too, I've driven one of those.  The thing that made me go back to Buick other than the beauty of these new body styles they are producing is the quality that I experienced in the two different Park Avenues that I had years ago.  With this new LaCrosse everything about the quality has been above bar in my experience.  The body panels are isolated in 2 inch thick sound deadening material.  Also, it is not possible to floor it from a standing start as it overcomes the traction control, locks the differential and sends the tires up in smoke -- with what they cost to replace, I don't think so...     What kind of Buick is your 17 year old?

My 17 year old Buick is pictured earlier in this posting Joe. 1995 Century Estate Wagon, has every option available at that time including keyless entry that opens just the doors, thats it. The 3rd seat still has the plastic on it, never been sat in. Still rides like a dream, gets great gas mileage, now that gas is over 4 bucks/gallon here. I would like to keep her going as long as I can and the nice thing is NO payments on it.

Joe, it has the later 3100 V6 engine. But still has tons of power when you step on it. They built that GM "A" body style for alot of years and was rated one of the longest lasting cars on the road today, probably because GM made so many of them. I love to be beside someone at a traffic light that goes to merge in my lane and I beat them and I have the final laugh in a woody wagon.
