Tis a pity translantic shiping would be impratical (believe me I know as I have a broken 2100 first model Portable to prove it) and expensive!

Not that I would expect you to want to part with it lol!!!!.

I will point out it is the wrong paper bag- its close but it should be a type J (same as a Constellation).

The date stamp is more likely to be a service as opposed to a manufacture date - its a interesting bit of history tho

Have fun with it- they are a b@tch to stear round furniture tho lol!

Gary, the Dell Inspiron qualifies for a battery recall - so if your machine is new old stock, you'll prolly want to head over to http://www.dellbatteryprogram.com and see if you need a free replacement battery. I believe the batteries with model "OU091" are the ones of interest. Better safe than sorry!
