I am just learning how to use this so forgive me if im not doing it right. Thank you for the information that you left. I am unfortunately looking for the push buttons for the cook top controls and General Electric customer service cannot locate anything for my model number or serial number.

This may help you out... The part number for the push-button surface unit switch should be in there somewhere.  It's a parts guide for GE ranges, cooktops, and ovens from the 40s through the 70s.  Try searching on eBay with the part number - you may just hit the jackpot and find a NOS one somewhere!  

 

If not, our own John Lefever (combo52) likely has a spare control or two for you.  Your range being a 1964 model, your chances are good of finding the right switch for it.
