Hello all,
I have a Maytag 32 that I purchased a few years ago and I would like to refurbish it as a "daily driver." As our laundry room is currently gutted and I find myself in my kitchen doing the weeks wash in my "gray ghost" I have run into a couple of dilemmas.
The machine works well mechanically and I have rigged up a rubber hose with a pvc shutoff valve at one end. I know this is probably a bit superfluous but I would really like to locate a replacement hose with the little metal hook/spout which would be correct to the model. Ideally, I'd also like to repaint this machine and make it look a little nicer so that it can stay upstairs in my soon to be renovated laundry room (my husband is much more likely to give in and let me keep her upstairs if she doesn't look quite so rough.
My second dilemma is how to drain the water after use. Currently I'm using a 2 gallon bucket to drain the hose into and dump in the sink as I don't have a floor drain in the kitchen (or laundry room) I'm debating getting a small water pump (like the kind used in a fountain) to drain the majority of the dirty water after washing to make things easier. Do any of you guys (or gals) have any better ideas for easier emptying of water?
