I regularly check the UK ebay listings for a set of dough hooks for ronrhoric in Australia. The motor and base units are matched a few years apart from those in the USA. The Model 9 in UK and Australia was offered with a Bowl-Shift lever, the model 12 had an 11 base, the model 24 brought the stand and motor together and the 24 A added a cool Vista like escutchion and straightened handle. In this listing the mixer we know as an MM in the US, the Brits have added a "backporch" on the stand. In addition to other minor pairings the mixers made for Australia and UK must have used a different paint or application process than used in the states. English and Australian mixers are more often yellowed and showing greater areas of paint loss than we encounter in the US.

Flea Bites

Small pin point paint dings in the cover are referred to as flea bites. I see them most often when a mixer is stored in a cabinet and items gets banged against it reaching for it's shelf mates. Large areas of paint loss like this most often occur in the user gets carried away with a 3M scubber.

Kelly,

You are a gentleman keeping your eyes open for me.....2 sets are certainly better than one!

There must be a different recipe for the enamel for it to go yellow to the degree that it does here and I have to say that we never got pale blue fittings for the MX series....only black and brown/tortise shell...

Which fit the model 11?

The figure 8 dough hooks came out in the USA after the model 12s, yes?

Am I understanding correctly, if one wants a dough hook for model 11 machines one needs to look in the UK where they have a cross slot on the end. A straight single slot from the late 60s will not fit?

These dough hooks work well in any early mixer with the exception of the model 12 which times the gears differently on the spindle.  (If you pull the armature out of a 12 and turn the gears before reinserting the armature you can use hooks in a 12 also.)BE SURE TO PUT THE HOOK WITH THE GROOVE UNDER THE JUICER PORT.  If you insert them backwards it pulls dough up the shaft and onto the mixer head.  Don't use more than 4 cups of flour in the mixer bowl.  You can do larger batches by removing the mixer from the stand.  Don't let it bog down, keep the mixer moving in and out of the dough mass.
