I have my 1998 emerson"quiet cool"A/C out for cleaning and am thinking about trying to repaint the originally white inside grille that has discolored to a yellowish tan color back to white-anyone had good results repainting white plastic?- I might try"fusion"paint meant for plastic and see if it "fisheyes"or anything else nasty...BTW,bought this A/C as 10 yr old NIB from a lost freight compant-only been exposed to sunlight for 5 yrs.

That, Or....

Repainting with Krylon Fusion is one possibility.

Another alternative might be Retr0Bright, which is not a product, but a DIY process involving high-strength hydrogen peroxide, oxy powder and xanthan gum. The process reverses the yellowing found in plastics exposed to UV. The advantage is that the plastic remains original in composition and regains its original appearance.

There is a Website detailing the process; a link is below. Some people have had excellent results from doing it:

The m'frs love that 5-year tobacco-stain yellow. They wouldn't remove it if they could. It makes you want a new product even on the off chance your old one still works. It definitely doesn't "wash off" with conventional liquids. And mine was only indirectly exposed to UV from fluorescent lamps in the garage.
