Hi all,

So I have noticed that my miele 3922 has been sudslocking/water locking more and more.
I dont know why but its getting to the point where every spin cycle it gets stuck on 6 minutes left and struggling hard while water flows down door.... And then I smell a awful electrical smell. I lifted the top and the circled bit on the attached photo burnt my finger to touch...this didnt smell though.

Filter completely clear no error codes ect......

Today I ran a cottons 40 (mostly socks not at all overloaded and minimal Persil colour protect powder and half cap comfort) and on final spin it could not clear a waterlock.....it did that stuck on 6 minutes thing and started to smell electrical so I had to stop and manual drain..... I noticed it was very bubbly the first bit of water coming out....... I then did it on spin again and waited until it was at 1200 and closed it and then it finished fine...

My thoughts are that there should be an air escape thing in the drain that is blocked. IDK... Really appreciate any help. This website has saved the machine already once Before!!! Sorry for confusing post!!

That is common issue on the Softtronic series machines.

It most likely is the vent system between the pump and the drawer being blocked partially or fully.
It's a bit of a pain to get at for what a small cause it is, but usually can be fixed without any parts.

There are several videos on YouTube showing how to remove the front.
And if you check Mieles website for their new parts system, there is a parts diagram showing you the pump and the pipes related to them.

Thanks for all the help.....The shocks are in dire need of replacement and I guessed id need to take hoses apart... so I can kill 2 birds with one stone!
(Not sure of the frequency - apologies)
Thanks for all the replies!! Really Appreciate it!

Classic Miele

Morning Harrison, you just worked out your own theory !!

On these models when the shocks are worn the bottom of the drum vibrates up and down too fast for the water to escape completely through the Detergent Recovery nozzle , so air is being drawn into it which before the water has had chance to escape, computer thinks sump is empty and proceeds to spin and so water / sudz lock begins.

Change the shocks and it should sort itself straight away , the other thing you can do is when next changing the sump hose remove the floating white plastic ball from the plastic fixture (keep the fixture in place for the integrity of the sump hose wand water exiting ) so the water flows through the sump with greater force, if you place the powder onto the clothes water has filled the sump so no detergent loss etc, a few members spoke of doing this and it works etc

I also second checking the vent hose that lets air out of the pump and into the vent pipe to the dispenser. On my w3083 it was blocked with bean bag beans. It’d always drain ok initially, then fail to drain any further once the spin started.

You can access it from the front and top, but it’s much easier if you remove the side panel as well.
