Hello friends,
Seeking advice today.Getting ready to do a complete appliance replacement-DW,slide in stove,fridge,microwave-exhaust unit,WD.WD are in seperate room,so any brand/color OK,but want to buy the same brand for the kitchen stuff.Going stainless steel.I figure there is more difference in dishwasher performance than the other appliances so I plan to let the dishwasher brand I choose carry over to the stove, fridge, and microwave.Again,WD brand is anything goes.Of course, part of the reason for doing this project, which includes new countertops,is to increase home's value,so I tend to lean toward Kitchenaid for it's perceived value as a premium brand.I greatly value the opinions and knowledge of this group,so any/all input welcome.I might also add that I have 7 in my house, including 4 women and a baby,so EVERYTHING gets very heavy use-especially the DW and WD.
Thanks to you all.
Tom

I say go with the Kenmore Elite version of the dishwasher. It's the best performing of the Whirlpool tall-tub cousins. Sears has to be able to have documentqation to prove the statement America's cleanest dishes. WEash arms and software are a little bit different for the 3 brands of Kenmore, KitchenAid, and Whirlpool. I love my Kenmore Elite.

If you want the absolute best appliances and money isn't much of an issue, go Miele. I've yet to hear a bad thing about Miele anywhere except the price. Miele dishwashers are definetly made to LAST and made to CLEAN dishes that have baked on food without and prerinsing! Miele washers and dryers ar also built to withstand most anything and to LAST for years and years, I just LOVE my Miele washing machine!!! However, Miele is also VERY pricey, if it is too much so, I would recommend Bosch appliances for the Kitchen, most everyone I know who has Bosch appliances absolutely loves them and would never trade them for anything! For the laundryroom I would then ask are you looking for capacity or durability? For durability I would definetly go for a Speed Queen topload washer and matching dryer. If you want capacity, I would recommend the Whirlpool Duet/Maytag Epic/Kenmore HE5T (they are all the same machine internally.)

What about the Kitchen Aid washer (don't know which model)?
I was told yesterday by an appliance store it was the same
as the Duet?

Go for a Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer (but stay away from the GE made front-load dryers)and a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer dishwasher.
