I am now taking reservations for rubber reproduction Kenmore Scrubber Caps and 1955-1959 GE Filter-Flo rubber mounts. I'm going to sell them for $75 + shipping. I have sold a few so far but want to gauge how much interest there is as next week the humidity is supposed to drop significantly which would be a good time to cast/make these parts.

If you'd like to have one please let me know here or send please me an email. Also let me know what color you'd like.

The GE-Mounts are matched as best as possible to the original colors, either Gray, Turquoise or Pink. The Kenmore scrubber caps can be the original dark gray or really I can make up any custom color you wish.

For those who may not have seen my original post about this click see this link: https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?96484_37~1

Frigidaire parts will be available in a month or two as I have a few more silicone molds to make up first.

Robert amazing, beautiful job on both the GE & the Kenmore scrubber caps. For the Kenmore scrubber caps, my favorites in order are 9, 10, 7, 8, 6, & 11. So wonderful to have those childhood memories of the Kenmores I came across with those scrubber caps.

Thanks, Melvin and Christopher I sent you both emails and will keep you posted when I have those parts ready.

These parts need to be molded under pressure and then heat cured at 160F for 12 hours in a food dehydrator so they some time to make, but I'll get started on them ASAP.

I would like to buy

Two Kenmore turquoise scrubber caps one for my 64 turquoise lady Kenmore pair and one for Jason‘s 1965 turquoise LK Kenmore pair.

Even though the turquoise is not a factory color for this part, I think it would look really nice on a turquoise machine.

Send me an email and I’ll send you payment. Let me know the best way to send payment. There’s no big hurry.

John

Thanks everyone, I'm recording all of these requests into a spreadsheet. It will take several weeks to make all of these parts and I will email each one of you when I have the parts you requested made to get your mailing address.

Just when I think I’m observant….

I did a load of wash yesterday and noticed my 57 has a pink cap and a grey “base”. I wonder if it was an early variant where GE was using up old parts?

The OCD person in me will be happy to have all-pink soon to match the trim/ dials/ buttons elsewhere. Had me clutching my pearls to think it’s not color coordinating with my refrigerator interior (which is all pink). 😝

Glad you like it Paul, gotta' love these brand new parts!!! I love mine and that filter pan is held down properly even with my 1150rpm spin on my souped-up '58 GE.

You know Ken had mentioned to me that the 1957 models came with either Pink or Gray mounts. I wonder exactly why GE did this, as in 1956 they came with turquoise mounts. I wonder if it depended on the color of the machine itself. Maybe the white machines came with pink but the machines in yellow, pink, turquoise came with gray mounts?[this post was last edited: 8/25/2024-10:01]

Grey filter flo mount

Robert, I had often wondered if it been used on the Canadian machines, but although mine has Canadian General Electric on the model tag, it came out of Appliance Park.  GE didn't start producing washers and dryers in Canada until late 1958.   Perhaps the grey support was in an early run of the machines?

Robert, I would like to purchase:

1 - 1957 Filter-Flo mount in gray.

1 - 1957 Kenmore scrubber cap in turquoise.

My Filter-Flo also came with a gray mount, but the holding tabs didn't last long due to their age. Here is a pic of the original mount in place. Since it's a pink machine that may be why they used gray. I like the contrast.

I'll be watching for Frigidaire parts!

Based on a friend's machine, those little holding tabs did not last all that long. After three years hers did not hold the filter pan level during water recirculation so water overflowed over the back of the pan and it did not move back and forth with the Activator anymore. Her sister's machine had the white plastic one piece filter pan which worked better at staying in place and protected the top of the transmission from moisture.

Are you going to be making any of the Scrubber caps in that Kenmore "Circus Peanut" orange?

Oh yes I always referred to that color simply as "harvest gold" as that is what I would guess they were trying to create.

I ordered some brown and orange pigment to help make that color. I'm thinking it's going to take mixing yellow, brown and a small amount of orange.

I have to wonder who exactly was in charged of coming up with these agitator, cap and other feature colors with the manufacturers? Was it the engineers or the advertising department or some other department.
