I love this product, it just saved the day once again (or so I think, will find out this weekend). With this you can make your own screw-type stainless steel water clamps of any size. Comes in real handy for making those big 11" diameter or larger outer tub water boot clamps like in a GE. You can't just run out to Ace Hardware and pick up one of those.

YaaaY, Robert, Im so glad to see that westy running, Looks like you found the right knob after all, i beleive it was the washer knob that was stolen at the estate sale? Jetcone, yes it looks like vinyl, My Moms had that vinyl insert, its not a smooth surface.Almost sharp little bumps, I use to have the imprint of the "bumps" on my hands from leaning to watch the action. When She had Salvo, it only took a 1/2 tablet. Thanks so much Robert, when u mentioned stretching boots i had my fingers crossed, i remember your writing the original boot had torn. Moms lasted until the late 60's the dryer lasted another 10 years..Best of luck with it... arthur
 
o, one last question please, where does the water enter, im thinking somewhere in the outer drum, as an 8 year old i only remember, the water eventually made a few streaks on the glass, then it seemed like a deluge. alr2903
 
Wow! I always love when I see vintage front loading American washing machines!!! The drum looks a little small, how much does it hold, what volume is it? The "transmission" is interesting, as I said I'm used to single belt coupling motor-drum, seeing that "mess" is always fascinating!
Is that the model that dried too? And the spinning speed, how fast did it go?

I believe the washer spin speed is around 450 rpm and was mated with a Very hot dryer. Robert what a great job...bump..
 
Does your machine have white vinyl on the door?

Actually it is loose Brent. The way this washer works is during wash tumble the spin belt is made to slip because its loose, during spin the spin solenoid engages which forces the two peice spin drive pulley to sqeeze together tightening the belt and drive the tub at around 450rpm.
