Hi All
I am in the process of restoring a Hoover 0307 wringer machine.
The rollers on the wringer aren't too bad, but they have started to crack. Can they be replaced?
If not, what is the best thing to do to preent further degredation?
Cheers
Stephen

Automotive rubber restorer; glycerine

You might try an automotive rubber trim and weatherseal restorer like the ones sold by companies such as Zymol, Wurth, Meguiar's, Eastwood, etc.

Another possibility is glycerine like you can buy at the drug store.

Soaking the rollers in any of these may work, but I would also be careful not to overdo it as you don't want them to be too soft, etc.

Wringer rolls!

I have had good luck with sanding the rolls. I read in a booklet on wringer washers to use kerosene this works on all rubber rolls but you need to wash off after cleaning because it will rott the rubber if left on. I never needed to use kerosene but sanding worked for myself.
