revamped reprogrammed commercial washers

good day members,

well after a few recent trips to the laundromat to help a few friends of mine ive realized the wascomat frontloaders use a staggering less amount of water! before the water lines would be unbelievable high even the washer would be fully filled with water. they removed all the toploaders after they were bought out by a new company and its the same washers however they have been reprogrammed as follows:

hot is really warm no longer hot as it had smoke coming out from it before
warm is cooler before smoke would come out a bit on the warm selection (previously)
cold is pure cold
and delicate uses cool water instead of the initial warm
the cycles usually do a prewash main wash and 3 rinses however after the prewash the washer partially drains and adds more water before it would do a full drain and spin and refill.

the rinse levels are far lower than they ever were and shorter and the final spin speed are even slower

the washers also have these plastic small boxes located on the top right hand corner hmmm. weird and they all smell horrible in the inside they never did....im very disappointed and i will find a new place to take my mattress padding to be
cleaned so much for washers that can clean.....

Are these the new Wascomat electronically controlled washers?

The ones I am talking about are the ones where you can add extra rinses or wash time by selecting these options and inserting another quarter or two.

The ones at our local Chinese coin op are like the ones I described above. They still have a nice water level, but hot is really luke warm.

NYC Has Raised Water Rates Several Times

Over the past few years, with another increase just this year. This effects both domestic and commercial users.

This past summer, with it's hot weather and low rain fall saw fewer green lawns and gardens around NYC, including Staten Island (a place known for being green". No one wanted to pay the extra funds, especially in this economy just to water lawns.

Our local laundromat person told us that the city does keep an eye on laundromats, and if water is seen above a certain level on the door, they can be fined. Though not sure if this only applies during drought warnings/conditions.

Laundromats in NYC, and elsewhere one suspects are caught between a rock and a hard place. High or very high fixed costs (water,utilites, rent, etc), versus limits on what customers will pay.

Many laundromats get around raising prices too steeply by either cutting back on water, especially hot water, or my personal pet peeve, shortening dryer time for that quarter.

sorry for the late response, the model wascomat washers they have are older with one switch button for delicate,warm,cold,hot in double loader, triple, and giant sizes. i understand how they want to conserve and meet guidelines however the quality of the wash decreases and the cheapest wash is 2.25 bla!
