And they cook very evenly. One of the few things to come out of the flood unscathed, thank goodness.
But do expect to have to replace the line cord. Ours melted off the first time we used it for longer than 5 minutes. I guess they used a synthetic rubber compound for the plug which did not stand up to the test of time. The rest of the skillet, including the thermostatic control is just wonderful.
Gosh, if they only built them like this now-a-days.

Retro E Skillets Hoover

When I was a child....back in the 70's my Mother would broil steak in a Hoover electric skillet/broiler. I wish it was still around.
