reverse rack maytag question

I just got a direct drive reverse rack this week, and have noticed that the wash action in it is far less aggressive compared to the belt drive machine that I have. Took a look at the lower spray arm, and noticed that the tower has far larger holes, and one less than the belt drive, and the lower arm has less jet holes as well. When did they make that change to the wash system?
Is there any way to change out the power module center post to be able to use the old style lower spray arm? The center tower does fit without a problem, but the belt drive arm will not fit on the power module in the direct drive. Any suggestions?

Filter Screen

Have you checked the filter screen? If that screen gets even 20% clogged, wash performance PLUMMETS! If there are any hard water deposits on the screen, soak it overnight in CLR and scrub it with a stiff bristle toothbrush.

The first thing I did when I picked up the machine on saturday and got it home was take apart the power module and clean the filter screen and spray arms. the backwash spray had some crud in it, but that was removed well before I ran a load of dishes thru it.

We do have very soft water in the lower mainland of BC, so mineral deposits are not much of an issue.

The machine washes fine, as mentioned, it just seems far less aggressive as the belt drives that I have. Does not have the same distinctive sound that I am used to with a rr tag.

Just seems to have a lot less "oomph" with the direct drive pump as mentioned.

If wash performance isn't an issue, and the cleaning results are the same, I wouldn't worry about it.

DD AND BD REVERSE RACK MT DW

The DD machine was much quieter than any BD MT DW and the first design of the BDs was even louder as the pump ran faster. Later to help control noise they used a larger pulley on the pump to slow it down a little. But as Bob suggested if it is doing a great job cleaning enjoy the quite. I worked for a MT home appliance store when the DDs were being sold and well through the transition to BD machines and the DDs always seemed to have a much better sound of quality to them as they were running.
