Rhinnie has had more surgery----------------

Last weekend during our expedition to south Georgia Steve and Rhinnie had to head back home in the middle of the night because of discomfort in Rhinnie's leg. Then Sunday morning while we were having breakfast, Rhinnie suddenly said he couldn't see!

So he went into the hospital that morning and the tests began. Steve was concerned that Rhinnie had had another stroke. The doctors did tests that showed there was a blood circulation blockage in his remaining leg.

Today they removed his remaining leg. Steve said Rhinnie's spirits have been good, and that his eyesight is improving. Steve sounds like he is doing o.k. He is currently waiting for them to bring Rhinnie out of recovery.

Wow I'm so sorry to hear this news. Steve and Rinnie will be in my thoughts tonight that's for sure. I know Rinnie is in the best of hands possible with you Steve. Again our hearts go out to you guys.

Steve called me this morning. Rhinnie is doing well, experiencing some pain, but it's being managed and is manageable. Rhinnie's spirits are very good and he's very grateful he's still here. Steve is doing quite well too, he was gonna get some sleep during the day. Actually, Steve is doing a lot better than Rhinnie's first amputation. They are both looking toward the future, taking one step at a time.
