Rinses
I can't call those rinses a standard, but I can't say they happend rare, to be honest
On the top top end Candy's (like mine

) there is an awesome system for not wasting time:
Normally before every rinse there is 800 or 1000rpm interm. spin, followed by a medium water level (somewhere between rubber seal and lowest point of the door glass).
BUT when there are problems with balancing - NO wasting time. It does 2 bursts (400rpm) and if balance sensor says no, it stops, tries ONCE to rebalance, and if not, instead of normal rinse, you get a rinse where water level is half of the drum (like on pics). So, no wasting 10 or 15 minutes per spin before giving up, however it gets a little on water

But this is just one of many things that can cause this rinse - a factor of that can be KGmode, emergencies like sudslock, or extremely dirty water.
But I don't know how do lower models react, might be the same, might not. I am sure that my GO 510 reacts on Activa sensors, and here's it's reaction to extremely dirty (coloured actually) water - Link
