I'd like to get some.....I found it on ebay but they ask 50 bucks to ship here 79.00 Oz! And 19 bucks for the 3 boxes of 23.00 oz each! That is absurd!
I also found it available at a Texan online store called Texas Jasmine but they currently don't sell to private, just wholesale and shop refurnishment....

Just wondering where is mostly available and in which areas, never seen this carried at Walmart, Kroger or others........
I've read they carry it at the "dollar type stores", never seen them in a dollar tree shop.....I know for experience that not every thing they sell in those stores is junk, actually many stuff is good!
I know they have currently 3 versions, W/bleach and regular also a yellow package may be?
Any info about?
And eventually someone who could sell and ship some boxes to me?
Thanks

I thought it was totally dis-continued and only available vintage on ebay and the like, but apparently it is available in California at 99 cent only stores, as their store brand. Wonder if the formula is the same...

That Wikipedia article explains why I've seen the Rinso brand on everything from scrubber pads to air freshener at the 99c Only Store.  I've never bothered with any laundry detergent there because they don't carry any HE stuff.

Ive seen it

in the 99 cent store and actually bought it once! Mostly for nostalgia.
I think it's mostly washing soda now, not the original "soap" powder or original detergent formula. It had a nice unobtrusive scent, and performed O.K, for 99 cents! LOL

I'd like to get some boxes please....if anyone happens to find them let me know, I'd like if someone would make me the favor of sell and ship some to me, I just want to try it, 99cents does not mean necessarily bad or almost all soda in it, I used Sun powder bought at dollar tree sometimes and it worked fairly good for it's price...
So who knows maybe it is like it, one thing I like it is the fact that they produce it in a lemon scent also and I love lemon scent on laundry detergents....

I hate to pull up my posts......... Is there someone who can do this favor to me to pick up some boxes drop 'em in a package and send to me?
I would pay everything naturally, even a commission for the favor via paypal, I just like to try it and since it is "rare" to be find, and only in certain parts is available so in TX and Ca NV and AZ so where 99 cents only shop are and don't ship intl. I can only ask to people in the areas where it is sold and do not know anyone in texas nor Calif, Arizona or Nevada .....
I would like to manage to find it online before ask here, but no one carry it and Texas Jasmine didn't reply to me, paying that much on ebay is not the case, since it is 99cent per box in the shop and, by the way they raised Shipping cost unreasonably also, accroding to USPS rates...
If who can would be so kind to make this favor to me it would be deeply apprecited.
I take this opportunity to remind everyone that I offer my disponibility to take/ send, all of the little things and even maybe bigger ones that I can do from Italy, so detergents if someone wants to try italian ones, parts, accessories for European appliances you might have etc , everything that could be unfindable or difficult to get in your country...
Thanks.[this post was last edited: 8/26/2012-18:24]

This made me think, maybe is a stupid idea, that would be nice for the website to have kind a platform, where certain members put their detergents on sale as for maybe VTG parts, accessories related to appliances etc, a kind of virtual "shop" where others members could select and ask to get from members offering their disponibility, maybe this would turn very complicate to manage in this website as for certain issues maybe due for shipping, payments etc...also do not know if it would require special licenses etc...but I think it would be a nice idea to propose, a thing just among us, maybe is a stupid idea for others, for me would be nice...

As Kevin posted Wikipedia says that 99 cent stores purchaed the brand rights from Unilever to be used in USA and made of it their store brand for detergents and such in recent years, so I guess Unilever is no longer the manufacturer and they make it produce maybe at local to California detergent factory being "99cent only" a californian company, or maybe elesewhere, what is sure is that now rinso sold in USA is what you we would call a "store brand" sold for 99 cents.
Well said this, I'd really want to get boxes, this is maybe a question many would make to me: would you really pay that much for shipping for some boxes costing 99 cents each? " YUP! Curiosity is quite enough, having tried sun Powders for 1 $ each sold at dollar tree stores I can say they worked fairly good and so maybe even this rinso would the same, worth it for me.... also I like they make Rinso in lemon scent a thing that is hard to find on laundry detergents.....and just this would be itself a reason why getting some boxes, actually I'd like to try every version of it....
Also is quite nice to see how they state "since 1910" on their boxes it makes me wonder if they stil rely on unilever for making it....or if it's just a statement to make their products look more "important" by claiming the brand is such old even if actually another company make it ....this would not anyway automatically mean it is trash anyway...
Pics of some variations of Rinso as it appears today in the shelves:

The Rinso we have in our dollar stores boxes look similar to the blue one you posted above. But the box is much more primitive. It's a blue box but all it says on the front is Rinso Laundry Detergent. And the instructions on the back. That's it!
Let me go to the Dollar Store tomorrow and pick up a box, photograph it for you and then see if you are interested.

Freddy, if I'm able to in the near future, I'll send you some. I'm completely broke now to even be able to buy it, let alone send it. But that may change in. Few weeks. I'll keep you posted.

Freddy,

In the US years ago there were only three shampoos that we used in our family of seven counting my mother and father. Prell. Breck and Suave with 2% egg. Suave was a yellow cream colored shampoo and it had the nicest fragrance. Is there anything sold in your country like Suave? Just curious.

Thank you so much Vern you'd make me so happy! Thanks alot!
Thank you alot Allen also, I'd be very curious to see the package they sell now in 2012 it has probably slightly changed, do you have just the blue version on sale in your local shop? The ones on sale on ebay are blue either but packages looks the same of the ones I've posted, older graphic? .....I'm very interested to see the slightly different you describe, thanks alot Allen!
Andy: I knew shampoos similar to the Suave you describe with eggs you mention were famous in the past 50s 60s and 70s a famous Brand for it was Glem produced by schwartzkopft now being part of the Henkel company as hair care division, actually never seen of shampoo with eggs sold anymore unless in erboristic shops now.
I will take a look better to see when I leave work this evening as near where I work there's a huge shop of cosmetics that takes very kind of stuff, never noticed of one as you desribe containing eggs or egg proteins while looking for shampoos... but I'm not sure....but if there is one I would probably find it there....
Will post few pics of old ads for Glem shampoos I just found online....[this post was last edited: 8/28/2012-07:07]
