A few years ago we started to renovate our home. We brought an outrageously expensive spa bath which we have loved. A little over two weeks ago the pump stopped working. Contacted the company who basically said it is out of warranty you just need to get an electrician and or plumber to fix it. Very disappointed with after sales service.
Got one electrician come out who had a look and said windings have gone, could fix it or replace the pump. Off he went and never came back and did not respond to any of my calls. A second electrician just never showed up after me taking day off work just for him to take a look. Thankfully no money had exchanged hands with the first electrician.
So feeling very frustrated I jumped on line and did a bit of research and decided the most Likley problem was the capacitor. Indeed removed the capacitor and it looked bad, one side melted. Off to local electrical store, Jaycar in Sydney and paid $4 for a similar capacitor. Replaced it which was admittedly fiddly but hay presto it now works. I am really chuffed that I was able to fix it. I thought we would be paying big bucks to get it sorted.
Just wanted to share this with you guys.
