Yes, very sad news indeed.

Mr. Snow leaves behind a wife and three children.

Must have been hard for him to leave his job at the White House, but once Mr. Snow learned his cancer had returned, he wanted to make more money for his family, thus his return to the media.

First Tim Russert, now Mr. Snow, two greats in the space of a few weeks.

Mentioning Snow

in the same breath as two decent, honorable men who served their country well is not something I would have done.
My sympathy certainly goes out to his family, but the man propagated the lies and breaches of Constitutional law which are the keystone of the US...at least to those of us radical, un-American types who still believe in the Constitution.
I think it very fitting that he died of cancer; if anyone deserves it, it is these war criminals.

i didn't say he was great or anything.

just that they say people die in threes.

there's your three whether you like it or not.

And let this be a reminder....

that as unpleasant as it is, people should have an annual physical and make sure they get tested for colon cancer. This cancer is so preventable.
It's also wise for people over 40 to have a colonoscopy every 5 years or so....

My sincerest condolences to Tony Snow's family. In 1994, I lost my mother to leukemia. Cancer of any kind is a very unpleasant way to die.

Keven, Snow was simply a mouthpiece for other mouthpieces. IMO we owe him a debt of gratitude -- more than anyone, Snow is the one who exposed Fox "News" as nothing more than a 24/7 propaganda network for Neocon despots.

I am reminded of a certain dentist

who was also merely a spokesperson.
Sorry, the evil these people have done is inexcusable. Snow knew he was propagating lies and untruths. Were he a member of the military and bound to follow the Commander-in-Chief's instructions, his behavior would have been at least understandable. But of his own free will he did this.

Keven~

I really think your comments are out of line here. First and foremost, the man was a human being and an American. Cancer is a horrendous disease and 53 is far too young for anyone to die.
While I am in general agreement with you about Bush and Cheney, I am doubtful that Snow knew much. Look at how Scott McClellan was kept in the dark and lied to by Rove,Cheney etc.. Also, when we went to war with Iraq, Ari Fleischer was Press Secretary, not Mr Snow.

To say it is fitting that any human being should die of Cancer is an awful thing to say.

I am going to assume you didn't mean to have it come out that way.

No one is all good-- or all bad.

I am sorry for the widow and orphans. I know what that's like.

However, Tony Snow was a leading part of the worst administration to date, and I find it utterly incomprehensible that he could engage in such verbal spin........

Then again, it is not my place to judge. However, once in a while, I do. I try not to judge, but I am far from perfect.

All I can say is that when someone dies, regardless of whether one agrees or disagrees with that person's view, it is time to put those feelings aside and show respect for the family left behind. I speak from experience after having lost my mother in 1994, my dad in 1997, and my only sibbling in 1999.

Shane,

To be clear, no - if I could have prevented his having cancer, I would have. I meant the following: It is deeply, tragically ironic that a man who directly contributed to the destruction of the United States Constitution, i.e.: Writ of Habeas Corpus, illegal war of aggression, invasion of privacy, engagement in torture, violating signed treaties, the death of over 4,000 young Americans...and cutting back on VA services for the hundreds of thousands of brave soldiers injured fighting a pointless war - well, it is ironic for such a man to die of a disease which so resembles his behavior.
I know you and I don't agree on much politically, but I do think that we are in agreement that the US Constitution stands above, not below the feet of the three branches of the US government. Tony Snow may not have set policy and I am willing to believe he did not know what was being done at the beginning, but he was complicit in the lies and calumny long before he left. To me, violating the Constitution is as un-American as it gets. I may tend to knee-jerk to the left, and I think your deeply held and sincere religious beliefs sometimes lead you to put too much faith in people who are not worthy of your trust. Can we agree that we both would really, really like to see Eisenhower back?

I think it very fitting that he died of cancer; if anyone de

I can NOT believe that ANYONE would say this!!!!.... I know nothing about Mr Snow but I would never have the unmitigated gall to publicly take anyones personal inventory and pass judgement as you have. You do this frequently. SHAME ON YOU!!!

As a recent cancer survivor and havuing to endure one of the most harsh chemotherapies(my oncologists words) I can tell you that as brutal as it was to fight/survive cancer I can only imagine how painful it is to DIE from it. I have lost many family members to cancer, as well as many of others on this list have, and it is horrific!!! Please, Keven, show some respect for peoples lives. It's not all about politics, your opinion and/or your opinion on politics.

Please, no defensive lectures unless you have walked in my, or Mr Snow's, shoes.

Regards,
Rich

Keven, let the man rest in peace. There is no practical difference in job responsiblities between "Fox News Anchor" and "Bush Press Secretary". Both jobs were voluntary for Snow.
