I may be in the market for a robot vacuum. I currently have Neato XV pro I bought. From RobotShop I have sent the robot twice for repairs and it is still not working. I am about to send it back for a third time for said repair,they tell me I have had the vac four years and they can only repair it and refuse to give me a replacement vac because Neato corp no longer makes this model. My vacuum is warrantied for fiv e yrs and refuse to replace it. I have even asked for a discount on a new vacuum and they refused. Service dept says repair work is guaranteed for 90 days,they don't charge for shipping via UPS and don't charge me for warranty repair . I love Neato products but I want something effective and. Reliable I want to spend between 300-500 dollars, I had a roomba before. I would appreciate any advise as to which robot vac to buy even if it is not a Neato or Roomba as long as it is sturdy and reliable, also I will probably purchase at Best Buy.

Having had two robot cleaners (Electrolux and Roomba), I am of the opinion that they have proven to be expensive to buy, troublesome in use and expensive to repair.
So save your money and buy a decent conventional vacuum cleaner.

I have one and use it quite often. Mine was a gift, but I think the can be quite helpful for people who have trouble using conventional methods to sweep the floor.
Had Roomba Scheduler years ago.. piece o crap kept stalling when dog hair got caught up in the wheels and casters.. It was more trouble than it was worth. Last year the partner bought a Hoover Quest.. it was no better, worse in fact, so back it went.. Never again.

A Roomba in the Room-Ahhh!
The Roomba is nothing more than a carpet sweeper, really...
We happened to have had a box that supposedly had one shipped to our house, from all the way in Israel, just to after my reluctance to open it & be unimpressed w/ its performance that our Kenmore canister vac (which we'd recently replaced w/ a better Bissell upright) could do better, actually had CLOTHES left in it from a previous visit... (I knew there couldn't have been any machinery in that box, just from it being not so heavy...)
I won't really know, I guess, but from what I've heard & that people expect something like that to vacuum literally, it just isn't worth it--I mean, I even have a sweeper, myself...

It wouldn't have been so bad but for the fact that dust ended up caked to the printed circuit boards in both the Electrolux and the Roomba, and threads/hair got into the main brush bearings on the Roomba.
The plastics quality of the Roomba was utter crap. I had left the infra-red 'virtual wall' in a permanent position just inside the kitchen door, and it sat there untouched for the best part of two years. I happened to pick up the virtual wall to check the batteries, and the rubber feet slightly stuck to the vinyl floor. I gave a gentle tug - and the whole top half of the casing came away in my hand. The bottom was intact, the screws were still engaged with the four plastic shafts of the upper part - all of which had sheared completely off.
I was mightily unimpressed.
Suction was better on the Electrolux Trilobite, but so-so filtration meant dust covered the PCB. Eventually a power chip blew, but the PCB was somehow damaged internally, as the board seemed to have an internal layer. Spare parts apparently were available in Europe (via Ebay), but I didn't fancy paying £500-odd up-front for the complete PCB, which might not even arrive.
