I have been keeping tabs on Ebac announcing that British made washing machines will be produced by them and available in the spring on 2015, marking a return to British washing machine manufacturing in nearly 10 years. I am in the market for a new machine, and I very like like the designs of their models.

The daughter of the founder of Ebac, can't recall her name, seems very legit and down to earth. She talks about bringing production of washing machines back to the UK and why companies moved out. The video at the bottom of this paragraph is a brief interview with her and a product manager at ebac and they say that why production has moved form the UK isn't as much to do with cost, more to do with globalisation of companies and failed British companies being bought up by mainly Italian companies.

She says this one obvious thing that makes sense. Most washing machines sold in Europe are made in Italy, and their wages are no lower than ours.

On Ebacs youtube channel, they have a few spoiler adverts for this washing machine.

She insists that this washing machine is a very easy to use, durable and long lasting machine, as well as being made in Britain.

And yes, the imbedded link video advertising the machine, that is an interior light !

It looks like they will have an entire line of washing machines of several different capacities that will all fit a standard sized cabinet. But up to £800, is getting up there in price.
It would have been nice if they would have shown a close up of the washer. Anyway, it looks like they are on the right track as far as what people want in a washer.

Update on EBAC**

They have released picture and more information on the 3 different model of washing machine they will be making, emphasising on all of them on their ease of use, durability and British manufacturing.

They look really nice looking machine, and the raised control panel is a smart touch. Looks like some science has gone into the design as well, stating the wedge shaped fins on the drum are design to agitate the clothes more, at the same time being more gentle on more delicate fabrics.

The S series looks super. 4.5 inch colour touchscreen and an app you can download on your smartphone to control it. That sort of stuff it cutting edge tech !
