High Temperature Wash

I see the 1966/1967 models in the 230-volt version offer 180° high temperature wash cycle. Nice-!

Thanks for all the great brochure scans---in this and the other threads, as well.

We had the all-pushbutton Lady Kenmore (circa 1973 or '74). It wasn't quiet by today's standards, but it cleaned normal loads very well, and of course the Roto Rack was always fun to load and play with. Loved the water temp and cycle indicator lights. Ours rusted out and was being held together by some hardening goop that my stepfather put over the numerous rust holes. I replaced it with a TOL KitchenAid shortly after my mom passed in 1985.

Now let's do 1967

Does the picture look Very Mad Men!

Don Draper....overlooking his family...depicting life in the 60's

Our other neighbors across the street had the very, most Top-Of-The Line L/K D/W, all push-buttons (just like their 1950's 40" Hotpoint Range) & in white!

When new people moved into the house the old Lady Kenmore was the only original OLD appliance there, besides, the Coldspot upright freezer; the range, fridge, dryer & washer got replaced (& the washer, TWICE!) & the Lady Kenmore got put out on the street, 'cause we heard when the new people turned it on, it flooded the kitchen!

(The newer Tappan range/microwave combo in wheat also got thrown out, too...) The washer & dryer moved w/ the old people who lived there, though...

UK Hoover Roto Rack DW

Hi
Back to about the same date as this Hoover made a DW with rota racks top and bottom in the UK. i had one for a short time and it washed well but very noisy and it leaked every time it filled. The racks spun round and there were short spray arms in the back left-hand side. There was a machine in the UK in the 80s that was 90CM wide would anyone have any info on make ect and if anyone makes a 90 CM wide machine now I'm looking to replace my 60CM Miele soon and the bigger the better

Sears!

Good morning all. I am Happy to see we made a big hit. Thank you David for the additional posts of the 1969 series. Per request by Pierre and I am sure others are interested - I will add the 1st series of non roto racks in another post shortly.

I love

How much the front-loading portable's buttons sugggest the keyboards of the Lady K

and how the top-loader looks so much like a washer that it's funny and the TOL thick butcher-block top with a loaf, of bread--what a stunning, "come hither" dishwasher,

but that guy all aloof from his family--what a telling cultural moment that!

You and David have created dishwasher heaven here at Aworg. What a great Sunday morning newspaper you guys have made.

Very nice!

Peter & David,

Thanks so much for such great scans!

The Lady Kenmore's were such great looking dishwashers!

Thanks for posting these. In the '67 brochure, I see they had Shaded Doeskin and Shaded Slate Blue in addition to the more common colors. Remembered Doeskin, but I had forgotten what Sears called their version of Whirlpool's Edged Sapphire - it was Slate. Wish they had run that color longer than the just a couple years.

Not a Hoover ...

Mike

The rotating rack Hoovers where not made by Hoover, only labelled as such. They were in fact made by Zanussi, who also made the Hoover fridges and freezers (and fridge freezers). The video is of some fun we had at ChesterMike's a couple of years ago.

I dont recall the 80cm dishwasher from the 1980s but there have been some wider dishwashers appearing on the market now although these seen to be not so tall and for building in - there is nothing new in the world as there is an American dishwasher that pops up on the POD (was up a couple of weeks ago if I remember right) demonstrating this concept right back in the 1950s.

Given that some of todays 60cm footprint dishwashers run to 14 or 15 place settings you must have a LOT of dishes - how old is your Miele?
