RRL-9TA Find!

Well, the Radarange supply seems to be waning, but out of nowhere came some good finds recently, of the RRL variety (these have an updated look but were made during the same time as the last chromies) and still close like bank vaults.

So after juggling some washers around downstairs and doing other heavy work, we brought in the 9TA donation (needs caps) and cleaned it up. Take a look!

BTW, in the garage is an RRL-10 waiting in the wings; same case and door but with the Touchmatic II panel. The combo should look nice!

Take a look at the panel: The top vent is actually all metal and the displays are still LED. Yes, the only woodgrain is around the lower buttons! Woodgrain?!

Great Radarange finds Cory! While the chrome models are definitely cool, I like the clean lines of the RRL models. I'm guessing these are circa-1981 or so. What does the L mean in the model designation?

It's a beauty, cadman! Looks like it's in mint shape. Another great Christmas present for one of our club members. Do you know approximately what year this microwave was made? I had a Radarange back in college (mid-70's) which had a big control dial and solenoids which made a loud SNAP when you pressed the start button. I have no idea what the model was, or anything like that...

Hey Guys!

This sweet little ditty was produced in May of 1981. Yes, still lookin' good after 25 years of use. This guy was modified slightly and used as a built in - thus the beautiful exterior cabinet. After picking this unit up from central Iowa on Tuesday, I fell in love with the looks right away. I like the clean lines around the control panel, the all glass exterior to the door with hint of chrome for the trim - and the door shuts just like the all chrome RR's.

I'm not sure what the 'L' literally stands for, except for maybe a new 'look'. The owner's manual that came with this unit is the owner's manual for a RR-9TA. This design was a good transition of their previous TOL models and internal components, with a look of what was to come throughout the 80's.

I don't remember those models or perhaps I wasn't paying attention back then because they didn't stand out as much as the chromies. It's very good looking though. There must have been someone in that company that loved woodgrain and held a certain but diminishing post of power LOL

Thanks guys! I did an update to the RR page last night with further info on the RR-7 models. Good Gawd there are a lot of variations!
