RONHIC: Too funny, and I am not going to ask the context!
Mine is from the first washer I had bought in my own, in college, circa 1981; a GE Filter-flo with, TA-DA, toggle switches.
I was familiar only with Maytags, Sears, and Whirlpool washing machines at that time. The GE was "exotic".
Made sense, too, as a name to use in the vacuum goup, and with my general love of electricity.
It worked for me all-around. LOL

My nickname came from a D&D Character I used to play with a lot back in the early 90's when I was in my early 20's.
The D&D sessions I used to get into would last upwards of 16 hours at a time. (Maybe sometimes longer, but at that point in time, who is keeping track?) Anyway, these sessions would usually involve drinking insane amounts of coffee or other caffeinated beverages, resulting in abnormal levels of caffeine in the blood stream.
All of these factors will inevitably result in hallucinations. (At least for me anyway.) After one particularly grinding campaign, I briefly thought one of the monsters in the game was attacking me.
One of the other players said, "Calm down Qualin, we'll get 'em." ... and it kind of stuck.
Needless to say, I haven't done a D&D campaign in many many years.

I used to DJ at a club called Chester St. in Champaign, Illinois. So the "DJ" was the first part, "MJL" are my initials, and the "CST" stood for Chester St. Put it all together and you've got what I used to do, my initials, and where I used to work!

another one of my dumb my St. Olaf stories...
Were back in the Service Department at Western Appliance in San Jose...it's 1963 and I'm 13 and cleaning trade-in's for the resale floor. My dad had hired this wacky "technican" Tom G. He was, I guess you could say, "unprofessional." He'd go to replace a washing machine timer, one of those complex timers that did everything like select speeds and temperatures and activated dispensers etc. Those timers had a zillion wires. Instead of following the instructions and replace one wire at a time since the new timer would often be connected differently, he would do or say something to attract attention, laugh and then just rip the wires off the old timer. The result was often a machine that didn't work or blew a fuse when he plugged it in.
Tom used to talk about the appliances he serviced back in Rhode Island after the war and he told me his favorite was Dexter, something I had never heard of. He said "sure, Dexter, they had two big tubs" and he held out his arms like he was hugging a tree. I still don't remember ever seeing a Dexter come in as a trade-in, but there were plenty of Easy spin dryers. One day I'll tell you the story about Easy washers...we called them "Easy Money."

i chose my late Grandmother's old machine,which was my favorite, the Electra 11500 Deluxe model which was made by Creda in 1983 for the UK Electricity Board shops, i'd love to find one in working order

The SN was named after my favorite Mac, the IIsi. So MACBOY91SI, Mac IIsi from 1991 --boy. The reason I post that today the 23rd, is "macboy91si" is 15 years old today.

Like your ride! I've got a 2CV-6 Club that I use in parades and for fun. It uses the green fluid for the disk brakes, which may be the only modern thing in the car! Since I live in a very small town in the South the car gets lots of notice. When filling up one day I got the "So what kinda car is thaaaat?" "It's a Citroen" "Citron? Aint that some kinda fruit?"
BTW "Cuffs054" really relates to another part of my life, better discussed on Dirty laundry!

I got mine when I got a 1985 Crown Victoria coupe, I did a chassis swap with a 1999 Ford Police Interceptor hence the name "interceptor1985"
