Once again, Democrats have screwed their gay constituents.
The 20-14 vote, essentially kills all hope of marriage equality in N.J.

For the residents of N.J, these are the Democrats who voted against the bill or abstained from voting. Now to be fair, 14 Republicans voted against gay marriage, and we would expect that. I hope you remember this come election time.

Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-Cape May)
Sen. Ronald L. Rice (D- Essex)
Sen. John A. Girgenti (D-Passaic
Sen. Nicholas Sacco (D-Hudson) .
Sen. Fred H. Madden (D-Gloucester)
Sen. Shirley K. Turner (D-Mercer)

Here are the Democrats who abstained:

Sen. Paul A. Sarlo (D-Bergen)
Sen. Stephen M. Sweeney (D-Gloucester)
Sen. James Beach (D-Camden)

I hope this makes some of us with blinders on, to take a close look and realize many Democrats are NOT our friends.

not our friends

Which is why we have to become more not less active in the only party open to us: The Democrats.

Women, gays and transgender were thrown under the bus a lot this past year yet, it was us who put the dems. back in power.

If we take the usual "they're all the same, it doesn't matter attitude", we'll have our sworn enemies, the christianists back in power at the end of the year. We have to work and work hard to get good people elected in the primaries and to make very clear that the gayATM is closed for the bad dems.

Interesting side note that Paul Sarlo abstained. That is a political shift from December that I would have never expected after his statements in the judiciary committee.

Monday the Prop. 8 trial begins. NOM made themselves well loved by calling the presiding judge a ringleader and trying to have the trial held in camera just like the Nazi trials.

It's back to court in NJ now. This was a clear violation of what the court demanded back in 2006.

Sudshane, I don't think any LGBT Democrats feel that all Democratic office holders are our friends, but as a party, they are not sworn to uphold a platform with specific points denying the LGBT population basic human rights. These Democrats can face primary challenges and should lose funding from more liberal supporters. In cases where they are open to discussion, they have a caucus that would lead them to more enlightened thinking, unlike the other party.

Good point, Tom,

And I love the comment on the Republican's forced compliance policies.

I can understand someone being conservative, I can not understand why a gay man would willingly support the Republicans in 2010. Their hatred is palpable.

The interesting thing about this turncoat, yellow-bellied behavior is that it is precisely the liberal dems. and the social-justice independents who put these bastards in office. We need to whale on them hard and replace them with real Democrats who understand Hamilton's viewpoint on protecting minorities from majority oppression.

The whole thing is disgusting. Even Portugal is granting us human status with marriage rights this month...soon, the only countries left which consider us sub-human will be the US and those Muslim pigs.

You can't cure it...

That's all the giggling gaggle of cowards can do, point fingers and laugh at what they don't have courage to fight for. Sadly, these fools will be carried along when the tide does eventually turn our way and then stand up and say "Look what I accomplished!" Looking more ridiculous than they do now.

I'd no be

holding me breath on that one.
The current Supremes have at least two members who regard the Constitution as something to wipe their muddy feet on -

Still and But and Yet - we can't give up hope. As some of the Latin American countries, Spain, Portugal and Italy have all shown, the power of the facilitators of the Nazi Regime, the Catholic Church, is fading in the rest of the civilized world.

It is intolerable that one single version of Christianity can tell the rest of us what to do.

Ah, Toggles,

I assume you'd have no objection to the Holy Church of Endless Ice Cream, Chocolate and Gorgeous, Hung and Horny Young Men dedicated to serving older Queens with their Bodies and Souls?

I wood, damn spelling error .......would......acually.

LOL I'm, laughing to myself in that in the old days rumour had it that one would point up to the to the chanelier in the CCCP (USSR) as if to say "Watch out for Big Brother listneing in". Now we have an the arrow in each panel ponting down to the lower regions... LOL

oh, child I do amuse myself. (yes that is an "M" , purposely).

Geez,now we can say,

Be nice or I'll report you to the teacher!
