Probably best known to PBS viewers in America as Francis Urquhart, in the politcal thrillers House of Cards and To Play the King.

Ian also played the pompous and incompetent German officer in "Private Shultz", a wonderfully hilarious BBC fictional series about how the Nazis counterfeited the British pound during WWII. His facial expressions were priceless.
