Samsung Copied Whirlpool's Large Capacity Third Rack

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

This is a digression from the core of this thread. As a Miele owner, I am agreeing with agiflow here. I do lament the lack of stainless arms both for a visual and practical purpose. When you compare plastic vs stainless implementations, there is a practical thing here- the stainless is less likely to split in half (as Whirlpool struggled with in the past) and they can be thinner (this being more relevant, as I trust Miele has done enough testing to ensure theirs don’t split).

Furthermore, at luxury prices like this you are paying partially for nicer aesthetics inside. This is evident in the different colors of components in the racks and the literally decorative framing on the front of racks in the higher models.

It does clean and dry great. I have no performance complaints really, as the only times I have things coming out dirty is from too much detergent (with the water softener, it is very sensitive to overdosing). It keeps its own filter very clean and I do not pre rinse anything.

My complaints with it are the aforementioned arms (though this is not top of mind), the company’s lack of respect for customers, mediocre (and worse than previous iterations) cu-shelves, and the subpar controls structure. The engineers did a great job, it’s a high quality machine. I think the accountants and executives contributed it to being less perfect a product.

TLDR when you get to a Miele’s price, aesthetics matter and it is valid to complain about them. Look at a Cove- sh*t dishwasher by most reviews it seems, but gorgeous to look at inside.

... Wow, that's the same arm that's in my parents. Had no clue it was just a cover. I admit I was wrong on that.

That being said, I know the top-most arm on the older models was all stainless if that counts for anything.

I stand behind my statement that the non-functional aesthetics should not be skimped on once you get above $1,000. There's definitely the room in their budgets at such MSRPs to not skimp.
