Hey Guys,

When it comes to vacuums I know there are a wealth of people on this board who know much more than me, so I defer this to the experts ; )

There's a nice Dual 80 Sanitronic in olive drab that I have my eye on, but it is lacking all of its attachments. If I pick this one up, will I have a tough time finding a hose? I occasionally see the Kirby accessory kits pop up, but what would be compatible with this machine? I imagine end-of-hose diameter would be the same, but what would interface with the Kirby? Am I severely limited in model range?

Thanks!
Cory

Kirby tools...

All Kirby tools are practically a dime a dozen! You should't have any problem finding tools for it. Keep an eye on eBay.

Well guess what, I went back into the vac shop and turns out he found the attachments...practically mint! So, I had to bring it home. The whole thing started when the gf's plastic, cheapo Bissell bit the dust. This one should last a long time : )

Check it out, still has the sticker over the Kirby insignia advertising "The magic finger". -Cory

Good catch there! It is funny, I went to the store yesterday about 12:30 and took a photo of the vac, but wasn't sure if I wanted it. The owner wasn't going to be until 1:30, so I said I'll come by tomorrow at 1:30 to pick it up. When I stopped by today, I was surprised to see it was gone! I wondered if something fishy was going on... LOL

Congrats! Glad to see he found the attachements with it too!

you know, those Kirby cloth bags filter okay for being cloth. better than some other cloth bag vacuums. may be just right for many people, unless you have pets. and i like the kirby attachments. to me, they arent a hassle like so many others suggest. pete says most people dont bother with the attachments. most people hardly know how to use a vacuum properly. no offense. if you can get used to the dirt empty mechanism and the tool hookup, you will prolly be very happy with your Kirby.

Yeah, both of us come from Kirby families and I remember learning first hand as a youngin' that you spin the belt release FIRST, then twist the latch. Not the other way : ) That was on our Classic III bagless. We still have the tools but that vac was superceded by our present Legend II. Great machine!
