Someone should take up Eric's kind offer of the GE version of the Sanyo. The GE is a much nicer looking machine. I had one when I was in an apartment.
It washes well, spins well and holds a decent amount of clothes for a compact.
The only caveat was it did not spin between the wash and rinse, so the rinsing was done in soap infested water. However, it had some pulsed spray rinses (if I remember, correctly) during the final spin. I just turned in back on for an extra rinse after the final spin completed.
It is a surprisingly well featured machine, completely convertible with hot and cold inlets. I wish I had the know-how to repair it! The only issue aside form some rust is the spin bearing is incredibly noisy.
