Saturday Night KA Fun

I finally had time tonight to get my new find hooked up and started running. KEY850 Superba Dryer, cleaned out and works well with 4 Heat Settings Auto Dry TOL. Washer KAW5850

Controls, has infinite speeds as well as certain speed settings must link to the auto temp in the water temperature settings. Heavy towels and cottons does not dumb down the water.

Filling Dispenser

1 minute of water running through the dispenser every time you open the lid. Then it fills in tub.

The water comes out of a very strange place unlike the old style KA or Whirlpool.

Is that a current set or is it no longer made?

I checked out the website and they no longer make them. I looked at Sears and Lowes and both have takend KA laundry off.

Ever since Whirlpool took over Maytag, they stopped making the KA line of washers and dryers....

I was told by someone (who knows if it is true) that when Whirlpool bought Maytag the Government required them to do away with the KitchenAid brand for Washers and dryers. You would have thought they would have used the kitchen aid agitator and 3-speed motors in the Maytags-- but they didn't. The very TOL Maytag conventional top loader is a 3 speed--

I m in agreement, I would have thought they would have used this KA as a perfect way to make the Maytag special. This machine has great features that would have worked very well and set the Maytag apart from the Whirlpool.
