Gotta love it. Description as follows:

"Vintage Radarange original, not sure if it works, the light inside does work. Nice & shiny chrome, glass tray inside is in perfect condition. Please msg with any questions. It is very heavy, probably 80lbs, so pick-up only."

It would obviously have to be plugged in for the seller to know the light works. At that point its not very difficult to turn the timer knob and press the start button to see if it works.

I'll venture a guess that it doesnt work! Must be a relative of the guy with the $8,000 Philco fridge also posted here.

Should I message them and ask if it works? [this post was last edited: 3/4/2014-16:11]

...Radarange Amana (Microwave) model rr7..repair experience?

Radarange Amana (Microwave) model rr7. i have this exact model..dad bought it for mom in 1976..
it has been used since then flawlessly..these are truly built to last.

yesterday i shut the door and heard something drop" / snap" inside.... next to the door ...

i have found a you tube video (Amana Radarange RR-1000 Troubleshooting and Repair) about a spring that broke inside a similar model like mine....just reaching out here to find any help if someone has any experience repairing these..

it's 80lbs ...took me all day to get it out of the kitchen cabinet..just starting to take the cover off and have a look see...( and try to discharge the capacitor

) thanks for any help or ideas in advance...!

Open the door and try lifting up on the chrome door arms. If it's the right arm that's loose, you can remove the control panel and right side of the cabinet (it's a separate panel) and bend a new hook on the end of the spring. If it's the left side, the entire cabinet needs to come off.

Do NOT operate the unit until you fix this, and leave it unplugged for the time being. If you're lucky, the monitor circuit hasn't blown the line fuse yet. If it has, the fuse board will need to be sent out for a rebuild.
