When I was a kid, my friend Eric's family had a Crosley chest freezer that was huge. It must have been the CEF-20. I remember it stayed on the front porch. They also had the 30" range that looks like the RF-PD30. Didn't know anyone who had the laundry equipment, and only one other person who had a Crosley appliance - a fridge. I'm surprised there weren't more Crosley products in this area as it was a local company.

As for the car, Crosley got out of the vehicle business in '52. They had introduced their car in '39 or '40. Angert's, a long time appliance dealer in Cincinnati, always had their old Crosley pickup delivery truck on display at their booth at the Home & Garden show. From what I remember reading, Mr. Angert kept the truck when he sold the business a few years ago to Bill Z., who wasn't as good at running the business as the Angerts were, resulting in its sudden closing within the last couple years. A shame as it was a nice small store.

The barber shop in the Candler Hotel in Decatur, GA had two Crosley air condioners mounted at the top of the two windows that flanked the door. One gave out and was replaced in the 60s. I wonder if the verdict on it when the service man opened it up was that it was "tore up," a term that covered so much back then.
