here's a cute pic

of me after just smoking a joint and dropping acid for the first time. i was 11. the shirt was handmade by mom as i insisted on looking "mod" and sears just couldn't cut it!

(just kidding about the drugs, i always looked this way back then. the drugs would follow later.

the cats are friskie (left) her kitten tom and tiger and one of tiger's kittens.

The kitties are adorable and I love the living room set!
I must try scanning some old photos of mine...

third grade

"Miss Fouch the Grouch"...actually she was very nice. Many years later as a sophomore at SJSU three of us went back to visit her in her classroom. We sat in teeny little chairs that would easily collapse under my weight today. The school's principal was Wayne Fontz, a miserable ex-military man who would have had student floggings if permitted. "Hawaiian Eye" was on TV at the time with the cab driver character "Fancy Pants" so named because of his floral-print Bermuda shorts. We nicknamed Mr. Fontz "Fontzy Pontz" which put a nice dent in his machismo.

my mother

who is a saint to me and actually died less than a year after this pic was taken decided on some new furniture back in 1966 so went downtown. no "furniture fair" around in those days! can't remember where we ended up but i remember helping her pick out this sofa and matching chair and the orange rug that came along also (although i wanted wall to wall!).

she was quite pleased with her living room and it's one of my fondest memories of my mother.

where is twintubdexter

in that photo? is that you in the direct center in the shirt with the squares on it?

Me

In 6th grade.

I had to go to a catholic school until after 6th grade. Boy, those nuns were mean old bitches! I was glad to get out of there and go to a public jr high school for 7th grade.

well

twintubdexter, very handsome young man you were! so wholesome looking. you look like a happy kid!

rickr, you have that parochial school glaze in your eyes, i had it to. i went to a christian baptist school for 9 years myself, it was just like catholic school except we didn't have any nuns, but we did have miss whipple! oh my God, miss whipple! gotta find a pic of her, gonna dig out my old yearbooks this weekend and see what i can come up with here. suffice it to say miss whipple was a force of nature to be dealt with! a 40 year old vigin with some serious issues (which she alleviated in the classroom).

and we were taught religiously that all catholics are going to burn in hell, next to their bingo cards! nothin like good dose of baptist christiam love!

for you Catholic School kids...

My parents were constantly telling me the same thing Sonny Bono told his daughter Amber in "Hairspray"..."we'll send you to Catholic School where you belong!"

Wow Rick, I bet you were a popular teenager. Love the monogrammed tie, and that hair is gorgeous!

before I get corrected...

Maybe it was Amber's mother (Deborah Harry) that made that Catholic school comment. I know collecting washing machines and being a movie savant go hand in hand and besides, Sonny Bono's just down the street and I wouldn't want to offend.

These are some great pictures

that you guys have posted. Soberleaf, I know you had your cheeks pinched more than once just for being so cute. I never went catholic school, but don't think public school was a picnic either. I had some teachers in elementary/middle school that would not think twice about slapping you, shaking you and of course , hitting you with a board. I won't even mentioned my "one arm Principal" Passatdac, I remember reading about this school you mentioned very well. . Some of those nuns messed up a lots of the minds of the surviving children because they had survived the fire.

cute bunch of broncos you were!

almost all of you look like you just stepped off the brady bunch! well, the guys at least.

you are both right! amber's mom made that statement "or we'll send you to catholic school, where you belong" and amber's dad chimed in "yea, catholic school!". i love that movie, everything about it! have watched it prob over 200 times! had a buddy i worked with named john, we both worked at red lobster 20 years, he turned me on to "hairspray". we used to recite practically the whole movie while working! it's such a fun film! did not like the remake though!

back to miss whipple, will try to dig out my "norwood baptist christian day school" yearbooks tonite after work. she deserves her 15 minutes of fame on A.W.G

Just wait till Robert finds out

I thought we killed the last thread with the shorts hiked up? Cute as a button, that one.

This is a cropped pic of me circa 1985 (senior year). I was the president of the school's "Television Production Team". Which also made me head AV Geek.

Beaver had a crush on Miss Landers, I had a crush on Mr. Aguilar. It was very unusual to have a male teacher in the fifth grade way back then, but it meant being kept after class was a bonus. When my mom got back home from those scheduled parent/teacher conferences she always had this dreamy look on her face.

oh lawdy it must have been nice to have a cute male teacher and not hear to hear some t**t's hole flapping all day long.

Very Good Looking Teacher

you had there. My first male teacher was Mr. Martin in the 8Th grade. Tall, athletic looking with a crew-up. Mmm, I don't think he was ever married.

Felt-up in class

My sister went to public school. Her first male teacher was Mr. Tracy in 5th grade. Almost a cartoon of a perv. Short, bald, pencil mustache (NO ONE wore 'staches in 1965 except Capt. Kangaroo). Bow tie, suspenders, wire-rim glasses, and unmarried in his 40s. Just the picture of "don't take candy from this man". All the kids in school, and I mean ALL of them, knew Mr. Tracy routinely felt the girls' backs during class to see if they were wearing bras (training or otherwise). Even kids in h.s. talked about it, some of the girls having been through this humiliation. Thing is, apparently no child ever mentioned this to a parent or school official! As far as I know he retired from the same school system.

Can you just imagine some d*ckhead getting away with this nowadays?
