Aside of Miele and V-ZUG, Schulthess is another example of well built machines.
Unlike V-Zug they also produce commercial machines up to 30 Kg (same market segment of miele professional).

This is the Spirit eMotion 7040, the TOL household model. Programming devices look like V-Zug ones.
Max spin speed is 1800 rpm but it lacks the Adora SQL steam option and wetclean program

I gave a look at prices : the BOL model 7010 is on e-sale for 2205 CHF= 1500 EUR = 2118 USD .
The 7040 (TOL) 3585 CHF = 2437 EUR = 3443 USD . Having such prices I'm afraid Miele will keep on boring us *LOL*

As a clue the BOL Miele W3204 comes 'round 835 EUR = 1180 USD

PS - Don't ever consider the Spirit Eco model : it's a plain rebadged (and obviously overpriced) B.S.H. (bosch/siemens)

turbidity sensor - doesn't work with tabs and liquids

I'm rather skeptic about dirt sensors (expecially those inside dishwashers)

Anyway it can't cause endless loops in the rinse routine; the loop disengages itself after the 2nd extra rinse

From the Spirit eMotion 7040 manual :

"Dirt sensor (ex factory OFF)
Select «Extended basic settings»!
Dirt measurement during washing:
If the dirt sensor is switched on during washing, the wash
time will automatically be increased in case of heavily
soiled laundry. The dirt measurement is effected for boil
wash, coloureds and easy care programmes.
If liquid detergents or tabs are placed directly into the drum,
the dirt sensor during washing must be switched off.
Dirt sensor during rinsing:
If the dirt sensor is switched on during rinsing, up to two
extra rinses will be carried out in case of heavily turbid
rinsing water."

Thanks Louis for these links !

I knew Merker is part of the Schulthess group, but really didn't know Huwa makes household appliances !

Can't catch why Electrolux doesn't sell its own Wascator machines for multihousing market instead of those rebadged Schulthess ... and that rebadged Asko model.

Anyway I bet those 55 cm wide "wall" integrated dishwashers that come badged as AEG , Zanussi or Electrolux are actually made by one of these swiss producers (their price and the way they look inside are more than a clue ..)

55cm

Yes, I think most of those dishwasher are probably made my the same manufacturer. Swiss had 55cm as a standard in the past instead of the 60cm like in the rest of Europe. Lately they are more and more changing towards the 60cm standard. Miele had 55cm dishwashers in their range too, I assume they made them themselves.

No, I have never had a half load size washer (actually they are 1/4 capacity compared to an Affinity) .... just used a Candy Aquamatic one some year ago, in a rental I was given @ work. I'm rather tall so I had to squat to access the door

Anyway I really wonder where these little E'lux come from. Old ones look rather like rebadged Eumenia Babynova

Some years ago in a Ikea catalogue pic there was one of these machines (rebadged Kenny) installed on a shelf ... in the hall of an apartment

spot-who-makes-what

Thi very ASKO commercial model is often rebadged (check my link)

Anyway look at the BOL Wyss Mirella in the pic Louis has posted ..... there is some Lavamat DNA (knob) and some Zanussi DNA (door and control panel layout) ... it's 100% E'lux made

"This very ASKO commercial model is often rebadged&quot

I wonder why this is??? perhaps its because of their build quality & reliability, Here they are sold as Primus as well as Maytag UK....

I think (IMHO) the Asko machines offer great value for money, considering they still offer stainless steel inner & outer tubs, commercial grade parts & no door seal/boot & flexible programming etc...

Our local launderette has Schulthess machines dating from the 70s, can't find the picture on my hard drive after I managed to system restore my computer without realising (don't ask), but is on my old desktop otherwise would post it. I've posted pictures before so I'm sure they might be in the archives somewhere!

Mike - what are the new high end 2000rpm Maytags like? The ones with the linear control panel and rotating detergent dispenser. Also what options do the ones with the round set of buttons do like the model you posted? The pictures I've seen have always been photoshopped and the Maytag site doesn't let you download manuals anymore :-(. I've noticed the Maytags have always been pretty reasonable priced, can you still pick the base ones up for about £400? We looked into them when mum bought her machine, but especially back then availability wasn't too clever.
